    A classic game!

And an argument for instant replay and goal-line technology.

England's defense: old, slow, resourceless, tired, ready to give up.

Germany's attack: young, creative, fast, precise, trying to prove itself.

    Result: 4-1.

I hope so. We need another dozen goals like that for FIFA to come to their senses and give us Instant Replay.

Grats Germany. totally outplayed England for about 60-70 of the 90 minutes.

I feel somewhat bad that I think Karma bit the English football team. None of these guys were even alive to see the robbing of wembley 1966 by the russian linesman.

It goes without saying* that video replay, goal-line technology and officiating in general are going to be huge talking points coming out of this World Cup.

    (* I know, I said it anyway.)

    Very entertaining match.

Will Blatter continue to deny the inevitable?

The best team has won… A bit disappointed by the level of England's stars during that tournament…

Congrats to Germany, took balls to come to this tournament with such a young squad and delighted it's working out for them - they fully deserve this result

Young German team dominated for long periods.

    Clinical finishing.

    Missed goal for England.

Makes this a classic match due to historical rivalry.

No? To me they surely looked today like they were all playing that time.

(this is not trolling, it is a fact)

England really need to come to the realization that they're just not that good.

Hmmm, which is just what Steve McNamara said in the ESPN broadcast S. Africa studio.

Sad for Rooney though. He didnt shoot a single goal during this tournament but is a great Player to watch. He appeared to intimidated by international matches. How come.

British defence organization was horrible throughout the match and that is what cost them the game. Wembley goals suck as they did in 1966 and blame FIFA for not wanting technical solutions for that matter. Regardless of that not given goal it was clear that the scoreline would have not stayed at a 2:2 anyway with all that horrible defending

England need an overhaul like Germany in 2000 and 2004.

England were looking for the tying goal and that changes everything tactically. Had the score been 2-2 going into the 2nd half so many of their players would not have been so up the field exposing themselves to a deadly counter attack that Germany can definitely provide.

England's defense was just terrible. I don't know if it was Capello's fault, or the players just weren't up to par, but that defense had holes all over it. It seemed like every attack of Germany's just went through them.

Muller had forever to shoot that third goal, it seemed. And the keeper should've had that. He should have been behind the ball. He got caught cheating to the left, anticipating some kind of cross shot.

England was running on pure emotion. once it ran out, it was all Germany, as it had been before England's first Goal. In the end, I don't even think the disallowed goal would have mattered. Germany had the faster team, the better attack, and the England defense was just woeful.

    There's a reason he has a yellow card, I'm sure. :)
