Re: Match 47: Chile-Spain 25 June Estadio de Pretoria (estará lleno de camisetas rojas: chilenos y españoles)
Re: Match 47: Chile-Spain 25 June It seems Spain should be the winner of this match, however Chile has Marcelo Bielsa as coach and his soccer concepts are so good that I think could win.
Re: Match 47: Chile-Spain 25 June This match is also another match-up that I am looking forward to seeing, as both countries are Latino countries, Spanish nations going up against one another I just love it when 2 Spanish-speaking countries face off against one another especially in a FIFA World Cup, and both of these countries when they are on the pitch playing, they can speak to each other and communicate in Spanish, another thing I love about this match-up. As well because both of these countries look like they could be evenly matched in this match-up, but the Spaniards of Spain have too much talent on their team, so I see Spain beating Chile in this match 1-0
Re: Match 47: Chile-Spain 25 June If our players decide to speak in Chilean and not in "Spanish" (Castilian really), the spaniards won't understand a single word. P.S.: where are you from?
Re: Match 47: Chile-Spain 25 June I see an upset here or at least a draw. Chile were incredibly strong in qualifiers. Suazo's time to shine on the BIG stage.
Re: Match 47: Chile-Spain 25 June hehehe. Nobody understand Chileano except the Chileans...usually. Seriously doubt it. The only way I see this as possible is if Spain have the group locked up. If that is the case, then Chile probably won't advance.
Re: Match 47: Chile-Spain 25 June I think you have been too kind to our defense. Spain will win, but not 1-0...more like 3-1....or 3-2....depends if Suazo is playing.
Re: Match 47: Chile-Spain 25 June I think this will be one of the games of the tournament. 4-3 to the Chileans
Can't wait to see how Bielsa's "un enganche y tres puntas" formation holds up against the Spanish attack. Tactically two of the most interesting teams in the tournament, so this promises to be a fantastic game. I'm wondering how successfully Chile's 3-3-1-3 (or 3-1-2-1-3 diamond midfield) will be able to close down on the quick one-two passing fed by the advancing Spanish midfield.
well he insisted on playing that way during the friendly they had in spain a year and a bit ago. spain won 3-0 interestingly, though, up until the loss to the US at the Confederations Cup the Spanish media was saying that was the best rival they had faced since Euro. Perhaps a bit of an excuse, but Chile played that game with 2 bran new players in the process and were missing many starters. The defense has improved dramatically since as well it was an entertaining game, and hopefully this one will be too...especially if it dips the other way
Against good, attacking sides Bielsa tends to line Chile up with a 4-man backline. I would expect to see that against Spain, though one would still see one AM and 3 attackers (but with a back four and 2 DMs).
well as expected, this will be decide things. if chile can beat switzerland though, the 2 victories may not be enough. i really can see switz, chile, and spain having 6 points each. will then be all about goal differential.
definitely. particularly that wonder-save by the honduras keeper. could've been 2-0. i think chile can definitely run with the spanish. the game against the swiss will be tough though. i expect more of the same
Bielsa is called "Loco" for a reason. I wouldn't be surprised if he goes against Spain with a 3-3-1-3 and play to win by scoring more goals than they do. We may see the first 4-3 match then. Personally, I give the win to Spain 4-2, like Brazil won against Chile last time they played.
I don't fancy our chances against Spain to be honest, our style plays into their hands in a similar way like it does against Dunga's Brazil. I feel we will be chasing ghosts. And I have a bad feeling about the goals missed today. Never mind...a win is a win. Specially in the world cup. It's been a long time so I suppose I should be thankfull.
Yup. I fancy our chances against them...but I see hard to get a 2 goal advantage over them. If we win it will be 1-0 or 2-1.
