Mphela took too many touches before side-netting the ball.

I thought after goal differential, they look at goals scored between the two tied nations? That way Mexico still advances.

Gallas shouldn't be there. He doesn't run, doesn't cover and doesn't tackle. Bring in Planus.

Why would you cross when there's no one near the box?

True. Ireland would definitely show so much more heart and guts than this French side.

If Uruguay had pressed France I think France would have fallen apart then. Uruguay played for the 0-0 result in that game.

South African players starting to get a little selfish, ignoring options and taking shots in traffic.

Get up or get out man. You're taking away precious minutes from your team!

    irrelevant

Uruguay and Mexico did not face a french team in utter disarray they did not face the french team that refused to train

Uruguay, yes. Mexico, no. Or are you contending that Anelka was a "tactical" sub? The lockerroom blew up at halftime of that game. That was the end of the French team as we know it. And Mexico then went out in the 2nd half and scored the winning goals. Mexico cannot complain after themselves being the beneficiary of the same implosion.

Uruguay have gone into a shell. South Africa has to do it all themselves.

    And now it's worse.

im contending that France arrived defeated at the stadium

and this game is a farce, but Mexico can secure themselves qualification with a draw so its on them

SA set piece nearly put them back up by two. Quick French counter nearly dashed all hopes.
