Bottom line is the Ref let the game get out of control. Isn't he french by the way?

Despicable goal? What do you expect him to do, stop playing? The play is happening very quickly and both times, it was unintentional. If the ref doesn't blow the whistle, than its the refs fault. Fabiano was doing what every player at all levels are trained to do. Play until the ref blows the whistle.

What is funny is that the guy is Argentinian and my dad was Argentinian but my mom was French.

    What are the chances, eh?

There was some rough play, I think the Brazilians got upset after the Elano injury. I'm not sold in that the foul on his ankle was not intentional. In the replay, the Ivorian guy seems to step on it with gusto.

Once again we have a very suspect referee job. WTF was the referee thinking when allowing the second goal... with not one, but two handballs? In one of the slow motions afterwards, the referee was even discussing it with Fabiano... so he must have seen something.

And the whole Kaká incident... while I believe the red card was harsh, Kaká should have known better than to raise the elbow... he just gave Keita the ammo to feign an aggression. However, his red card my benefit Brazil as well... they are qualified anyway and Kaká won't need to have that first yellow card looming in the horizon.

How Ivory Coast left the field with 11 players is beyond me. Talk about playing dirty and with intent to injure the opposing player.

They play so aggressive, they play a harassing style of defense. It's more effective in the World Cup than in their qualifying region.

Disgusting and disgraceful play by CIV. When you're outclassed, beat the shit out of the other team.

Hopefully they won't be appearing in any future major tournaments.
