I agree. As he is running, the attacker's leg makes contact with the defender's, which caused both players to fall. A tangle of legs that was initiated by the attacker. Although the defender's arm was up, that didn't cause the fall. A very good no call.
It's always interesting to watch the CR's positioning when Spain is involved. Their (Spain's) passing game can be so quick and effortless around the top of the box that it seems that the CR is constantly having to move a few feet forward/backward/sideways to try to not be sitting on a passing lane.
Terrible miss calling a foul against Spain. The French forward Benzima simulated the slightest of contact into a dive.
never underestimate the power of busquets , our yellow magnet superstar , even if the foul is against him the opponent gets a yellow card
Agreed it was not a penalty but Fabregas was not "looking" for anything other than the ball. Felt the trip and fell.
He's probably one of the best defensive midfielders to ever play the game...yet a lot of people think he's just a cheating jerk. It's sad really.
I know it doesn't, but it tarnishes some peoples image of a great player, and that's too bad in my view.
Saw that call and was like WTH... but then found out it was Busquets and somehow it stopped being much of a surprise If I remember correctly the ref actually had his view obstructed on the situation, so either an AR made the call or the yellow was based on the presumption, that it was a Spanish ball and therefore the foul must have been made by the French player.
