49' 1-1 #11 Nicklas Bendtner runs through 19m arc right to a ball dropping into the box, is shirt-tugged down. Yellow card on #5 Sebastien Bassong. Free kick is drilled into the wall, then blasted back in, and the refs miss an obvious corner kick. 50' 1-1 Announcer says "a-SHEEL Emana"
If it's the play I'm thinking of, I'm fairly sure the defender poked the ball away before any contact. Didn't get a good replay on it, though.
a draw would definitely better suit the Danes as they will feel they have a better chance at beating Japan than Cameroon do in beating Holland...
But Holland -already advancing- might regulate its effort, while Japan will be fighting hard for a spot as well.
58' 1-1 #9 Eto'o receives at 25m center, turns toward goal, feeds #15 Pierre Webo at 15m right post, and he launches a fireworks mortar at 50 degrees inclination
Webo whiffs! and Rommedahl skins the defender and scores!!! Great shot. ABC is slow on updating the score.
61' 1-2 #19 Dennis Rommedahl runs on to 23m right edge, chests a diagonal ball down box right edge -- collects it at 13m. Easily cuts inside the 18-right vs. an over-awed defender playing way off him -- glides left until he has The Window, and curls to the far post -- around #16 Souleymanou Hamidou's sprawl, like a training video.
If this result holds, it's curtains for Cameroon. Netherlands already has 6, and it wouldn't matter who wins out of Japan and Denmark, as even a tie would put them one point ahead of Cameroon's potential 3. FINALLY, a team incontrovertibly out if this result stays!
it's an interesting situation - a third goal would mean a lot to Denmark. A win by a two goal margin will mean they only need to draw Japan to advance. A win by a one goal margin means they need to beat Japan.
