It's game day, so let's open up the official game thread!

Needless to say, each team is in need of a win or the road get a lot more difficult than it already is.

Cameroon has the talent, but lacked a cohesive game plan in its first match. The Danish need to tighten up their defense and play good for the whole 90, they're definitely capable. I expect the Danish to open up the attack and go for broke.

Well, both Tomasson and Bendtner are fit to play from start against Cameroon, so that quite clearly a big improvement in compare with the match against the Dutch, where we were forced to use two midfielders (Beckmann and Christian Eriksen) on top in the 2nd half.

I'm up for this match but just wondering, can someone please explain to me why this game is on ABC and the U.S. game was on cable? I'm not understanding that as ESPN is owned by ABC...anyway, I'm hoping Nikolas Bendtner comes to the forefront here and has a good match, Eto'o as well of course, just hoping for some entertainment in general.

ABC's only playing the last games on weekends.

Joel Matip, Jean Makoun and Choupo-Moting are out. Geremi, Achille Emana and Alex Song are in. Cameroon is back to the 4-4-2 formation (their usual formation). Eto'o is to be played up front with Achille Webo. Not sure whether Geremi is going to play in midfield or on right back (and where Mbia will play).

It would be a scandal here if the soaps and talk shows were preempted by the World Cup. I kid you not. Lovely country we got here.

I'm surprised ABC/ESPN shows these games live. NBC showed most of the Winter Olympics on tape delay even though it was held in North America! lol

So, yeah, us Americans are real lucky to be able to watch these matches as they happen, not taped delayed for 8pm prime time to get maximum viewers as they crack down on all internet streams of evil people trying to watch the US-Slovenia match live.

As I said, lovely country we got here.

If Denmark wins or the game is tied, NL are through to the next round.

That should equal a very exciting match, I'm hoping they do that.

Teams walking down the tunnel. Now emerging onto the field.

How do you pronounce #10 Achille Emana? "a-SHEEL", as in Card's Ender/Hegemon series?

08' 0-0 Cameroon free kick from ~25m right, too low -- headed clear, with sidespin, and curls just over for a left corner. That's too low, cleared again -- but then Denmark foul at 11m wide left. Free kick directly to #1 Thomas Sorensen, caught.

Nice finish by Eto'o after a horrible giveaway by Jacobsen. Denmark's in trouble, because it looks like Cameroon has come to play unlike the Japan match.

Real poor defending. I hope that once we make it to the knockout stages we get Class A football as the weaker teams are weeded out.

10' 1-0 Sorensen feeds to #2 Christian Poulsen at box top mid-right, facing his own goal. Poulsen casually flicks a no-look, one-touch square pass to right touch -- curls forward and dies in the grass, begging #10 A-kill-ee Emana to race in and take it down box left to 11m. Sharp cross to 15m slightly left, #9 Samuel Eto'o controls and jukes one misplaced defender -- pulls Sorensen out, and shoots under him to midleft low.
