If there was any doubt remaining about whether he's going to be Crew's 10 jersey for the next 10 years, there's none left now. Absolutely magical, playing soccer as it's meant to be played, collecting the ball in the center, distributing out to the wing, making himself available for the return ball. That's not to mention a touch as deft as one from a fit bird that's got 36C's. Christ almighty, I could go on and on, the throw where he singlehandedly earned a PK was magic. On another, not really related note, how excited where you when oughton took the shot from about 25 out? How many times have we seen that this season? If Dunc is going to continue to be willing to shoot from that far out, something I think we need more of, then I say keep him in there. He did a wonderful job on defense as well. I didn't even see tackles like that when I watched NZ/Australia in tri nations the other night.
They both combined very well. I think Martino's success was in part because of the job Oughton was doing behind him. I don't know why they insisted on playing Oughton at right back when he's such a pest in midfield, as shown again yesterday.
Re: Re: Martino, F'ing tops Because who really thought Leitch would be any good? Duncan was the best we had a right back, as bad as that was. Good thing Leitch grabbed the opportunity presented by Duncan heading to ONC by the balls. Now we can get Duncan in midfield where he shows his true value. Martino was brilliant. This kid could be a real star, even by the next World Cup.
something like: martino, martino, kyle martino when he gets the ball, he shoots he scores kyle martino
