Thad posted on this in the blog thread, he was at practice today. From Thad's report it wasn't that he was removed so much as he left. http://www.backpost.net/2008/10/kansas-city-wizards-practice-10-03-2008.html
does that dude have personality issues or something? because i (and plenty of other people, i'm sure) think he's had more potential than anyone else on the squad and just can't seem to get it together. which makes it seem like he's just going to end up as trade bait.
sigh. yeah, I've backed Marinelli a lot in the past, but with his rag doll season and now this(if true), I think he's gotta be on a train out of here by the end of the season. Seems like he's got loads of potential, just wish he'd get his crap together.
I would be shocked to see him wear blue again next season. I gave up on him a long time ago. He has a lot of potential but if he cant stay healthy and then gives the coach attitude, then that potential does mean jack.
Doubt it's contract negotiations, according to this article, we hold the option on his contract. (Page 2) http://www.kansascity.com/sports/story/825934.html
With our luck another team picks him up and he ends up scoring a goal the first time we play against them.
Now that I think about it, luck has nothing to do with it, statistically speaking. The only former Wizard that hasn't scored on us has been Garcia, but give it time. It's making me question the coaching staff. I've been an Onalfo supporter since he came on, but honestly what else could it be but the coaching staff? Why does our reserve team kick copius amounts of anus, but our starting 11 wreaks of that which has just been kicked? Is there a different coach for the reserves? We know we have talented players on the pitch. They have individually proven themselves, but only occasionally shown cohesion with each other. I'm not saying we need to fire Curt, but I do think there needs to be a lot of work done to get these players to anticipate each other's actions and exploit each other's strengths. STOP CHANGING THE LINEUP THINKING THAT ONE OR TWO NEW GUYS ARE GOING TO FIX EVERYTHING! Gah! Sorry if that got off-topic, but I needed to get it out.
Re: the right coach and the right teammates can do wonders There's the injury problems that never quite get resolved that might play into it. Don't think Moss had that problem, did he? I get your drift, though.
Re: the right coach and the right teammates can do wonders how often do you see him on the treatment table though?
Re: the right coach and the right teammates can do wonders Not to mention Randy Moss has worlds more talent and the ability to put himself on the field. Bye, bye Carlos. Now let's hope the FO uses some money and get ourselves a quality AM. Schelloto turned Columbus around completely. We've got forwards, we need the feeds.
In the press box after the game, I asked Dave B. if it would be a safe assumption to say that Carlos was held out because of an attitude problem and he said yes...
Re: the right coach and the right teammates can do wonders As others have pointed out Moss was never a guy that spent a majority of the season on the treatment table. If it was just an attitude problem then that comparison would apply, but it's not it's his inability to stay healthy that's a problem.
