I don't know what Arsenal is crying about. They were clearly outclassed. Giggs missed a goal and Ronaldo was taken down in the box. It should have been 4 nil. Oh well, we will beat them again at Highbury just to prove it and take back the trophy. Love ya Arsenal, no I don't.
Rooney's dive was a thing of beauty. Worthy of Serie A status. So was Man U's version of catenaccio in the second half. Great match. Cheers to your victory!
I have to agree on the Rooney dive. I don't know if he was off balance, or if that is something they practice at Everton. What is catenaccio? Am I naive? I will be interested to see if Arsenal can bounce back.
delshafter : were we watching the same match? Huh? The same match where Ferdinannd was forced to pull down Ludjberg to prevent a goal - he SHOULD have been redcarded of course. But we know the ref is lousy as he bought the Ronney Swan Dive hook line and sinker later! Man U were so lucky not to have been thrashed.....which they would have been had the rules correctly been applied. Note in the next match Ferdinand tried "the shirt pull in the box" routine and was pissed off there was a penalty award. Of course he was angry as he routinely gets away with that crap at Old Trafford!
ok Indy, A. I enjoyed watching Ferdinand with his fine shoulder charge. It was something for a ManU fan to be proud of. You need to read the rules on the red card mess. Maybe a free kick outside the box and a yellow card. 2. When everyone watched it the first time, they thought Rooney was for real. And D. Ferdinand had his shirt pulled first by Yakubu or whoever. But no hard feelings buddy. This is the kind of stuff that makes the EPL that much more fun to watch. 49 and out is hardly the TREBLE! Stay in touch or tell me what else you got.
Hahaha, But seriously I was quite surprised that Rooney have all players would have pulled that kind of stunt.
Catenaccio is a highly organized defense system that has been used by a number of teams in Italy. Basically a tight back line that prevents goal scoring while putting much less emphasis on attacking. It is a highly misused term to describe teams playing defensively. ManU was not really playing catenaccio, if that is what your wondering. It is not very popular, but it can be a really effective strategy. http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/Catenaccio
Actually in my fifa hand book on page 30 ish or 34. A foul preventing and obvious goal scoring chance is an automatic red card... And ferdinand did not have his shirt pulled first. Ferdinand was simply out manuvered, and he yet again attempted his "obviously legal" proffesional foul to stop fuller from scoring.
