    Marcelo had by a good margin a higher tackle and interception average than Ashley Cole had in 09/10 which is the oldest date you have in WhoScored. I believe this version of Ashley Cole is even better than the one he played with Mourinho. And Marcelo was also arguably far superior in the offensive phase of the game. Mourinho didn't have to look for another left back for Real Madrid because he already had the best left back in the world right there on his team

    This is a good example of opinions can differentiate when you've worked with a player, either as a player or manager. Regardless of what arguments you may have in favor of Bergkamp over Drogba, for Ashley Cole, all that mattered was Drogba helped him win the UCL and Bergkamp didn't. End of story:
