Didn't see a thread for this...

I'll go with Donovan, not just for his very good, and well needed finish in the beginning of the 2nd half, but becuase of his constant excellent service on set pieces and overall leadership on the field.

A close 2nd for me would be Birsa who was constantly dangerous for Slovenia and had an excellent finish that even Howard couldn't dive for.

Birsa (pronounced BEER-SAH :) ) or Donovan, don't know which one to choose.

Too bad Birsa left the game early though, we could use some of his passes or shots in the late game :p.

Donovan... scored the first US goal and set up the 2nd and 3rd.

probably brecko in the slovenian defence, solid as a rock, followed by birsa, donovan and bradley, in that order.

I would give it to Brecko since Slovenia was able to escape with a point.

Honestly, i thought it was Michael Bradley. He was the only one that was consistently good for the full 90.

I actually give it to the father&son from planet Mars. They both had a bad blunder in the first half and they both recovered well.

    don't they look Marsian?

Altidore set up the second goal.

I'd say it's pretty close between Birsa (spectacular goal), Donovan, and Bradley. Edu also had a big impact on the game, but only played a half.

    Donovan

His goal early in the 2nd half put the US back in the game and was the turning point of the match.

Wasn't it Donovan who sent in the cross that found Altidore?

It was a diagonal ball into the box, I believe. He was involved in the play, but did not set up Bradley for the goal.

Was he the one who was constantly grabbing and clutching our players, or the guy who kept falling down clutching his head in pain trying to waste time, I get them mixed up on the Slovenian team.

I would give it to Clit Dempsey, he played for free after elbowing a Slovenian in the face during the first minute of the match, then he tripped on the ball, did a beautiful face-plant, broke the ankle of a Slovenian and complained to the ref for not giving him the call.

How about Radosavljevic. His bear hug on Bradley took him out of the play and scared the ref in to calling a foul on USA just to get the play over with.

Is that how this game is played? ;)

Seriously though, Brecko was solid - saved a goal on Slovenia at the end of the first half.

no, he was the guy the americans couldn't get past very often due to his excellent tackles and interceptions. you must be confusing him with the midfielder who was cutting through the americans in the first half like a knife through butter with his incisive passes ;)

Seriously, its hard to root for guys who cheat that much.

They have a talented team. I was impressed. But not with their shenanigans, and the refs inability to control them.

I will take the tie, but it was win for the USA.

    Seconded.

He took over and won the game ....oops... for the US.

Should be playing in somewhere else besides LA soon. He's too good.
