On a serious note we need a backup for Robbo and I think Origi only shows up for big games. So a Firmino back up and Naby should be ion the starting line up from now on.
The good news is that this result is of no consequence coz the title is in the bag. However , as good as we are the message is clear that when you play a side as good as City if we don't bring our A game you get your arse handed to you on a platter . For whatever reason , complacency , too much partying I don't know but we fielded our best eleven and took a beating. Now put it right next game.
In the 20 mins he was on the pitch - Naby was the best fielder (apart from Henderson who was running until the final whistle). it doesn’t matter - but it’s still a crap performance.
That second half was as bad as I have seen us play since the days of Hodgson. First half the difference between the teams was finishing. Second half iwe where steamrolled
City were very good , Sam . They didn't allow us to play our game and punished us when they could. We were awfully poor today , a shadow of what we usually are . Essentially they did to us what we normally do to opponents.
I hope Klopp shows them this video, just before we play them again next season, get them all riled up.
That was dreadful. I don’t know that we can just call this a hangover match. We created as many good chances as they did and wasted them. We also made too many mistakes and they punished them. It’s not a good feeling. We are too good to let that happen. 6 games left. We need 5 wins to get to 101 points.
Hopefully the afterglow has now been dealt with and we can resume normal business for the remaining games. Face it, if today's table had been offered to us 10 months ago we'd have given anything for it. File this away and go again.
Watching the match I was Livid,but let's cut these guys some Slack...Must have been a hard week of Partying for something they thoroughly deserved and the result hardly matters(yes its embarrassing now)...but I won't give a rat's ass about this result when we go again and best City again next year.They ended our 30 year wait and 3rd loss in the PL in 2 Years(some perspective)Even our Mighty Gerrard didnt belong to such Runs.Good Reality check and let's go smash the remaining six teams to go well past City's 100. To me the story of the game is summarized by two simple points: a) Robbo and TAA were effectively taken out of the game; b) sub-par passing in the final 1/3rd. Of course it didn't help that the chances in the first quarter went begging and the weak penalty hurt. Prior to that call, TBH, Gomez was molesting the little weasel pretty bad. Put it all together and it's weak, but understandable.
Liverpool have dropped the same amount of points since the restart as they did prior to the season being stopped.
Torn between going for the points record and seeing what the "B" players can do in these last six games...
I hear you Hobo...but I'd also like to see what the "kids" can do...and give them a taste of PL footie!
