Maliza Serves 'Em Up

Great. One problem: It was the A's MUG Root Beer Float Day. It should have been the Quakes Mug Root Beer Float Day.

Of course, I don't think my wife would let me get a root beer float served from Leeann Tweeden...

 

Anyone else bothered by the fact that it was Maliza that did this? No offense to Maliza at all......kudos to him for doing it........but.......could we maybe have gone a little higher on the noteriety ladder? I'm not asking for Agoos or Donovan, although it would be nice, maybe just Jamil Walker or Todd Dunivant or Arturo Alvarez, someone that a non fan could meet and then actually see on the field. I think the Quakes dropped the ball here. I think you send, at least, a guy that will play in the next game or so. Say a kid meets Todd Dunivant and Todd says "Hi and tells the kid to check him out on TV on whatever night or tells him to come out to Spartan, it's kinda nice to actually see that player play......IMHO.

 

The players that actually see the field were on a flight from Dallas to Boston at the time.

Word "root" should be removed from the name of event as well
