Great news, his is back in training with Sevilla and should be fit for their Uefa cup game. From uefa.com Sevilla FC were the star men in Spain this weekend, winning 2-1 away to champions Valencia CF. Joaquín Caparrós's team overcame a one-goal deficit with strikes from Julio Baptista, on his return from injury, and Carlos Aranda. The Andalusian side are not in action on Matchday 1, which means Portuguese forward Aziza Makukula could yet figure when they open their campaign at home to Germany's TSV Alemannia Aachen on 4 November. Makukula is back in training after damaging cartilage in his right knee.
I have a few concerns with Makukula! 1) Sevilla are in second place I believe in La Liga...that doesn't say too much for the importance of Makukula(he's been injured for good part of the season) 2) He's had some significant injuries early on in his career. 3) Foreign-based 'Portuguese' players (i.e. Makukula) have difficulty in getting the attention of National team coaches (i.e Scolari). 4) Scolari almost always plays with one-lone striker, deminishing the need for a third option striker. 5) Makukula is far down in the pecking order...as of now, Pauleta, Nuno Gomes, Postiga, Almeida...even Lourenco are more noticeable to Scolari and the coaching staff That = Makukula not being part of the WC 2006 team, Euro2008, etc.
