Scolari was apparently at the E. Amadora-Maritimo game scouting Makukula over the weekend. Personally, I'd like to see some more time given to Almeida before this guy is considered.

Makukula was just called up to replace the injured Nuno Gomes for the game on Wednesday in Kazahkstan.
Hopefully he get's some playing time in the 2nd half.

I am more excited by the fact that Almeida will be getting consecutive starts.

The twin towers upfront, Almeida & Makukula. This time we won't have to worry getting bullied around.

I mean scolari didn't take long considering he is in fine form. Also, he stated that he wants to play for portugal.

hes scored a few goals for Maritimo this season.

He does play similar from what I have gathered on the internet. Appears to be more able with the ball at his feet. Anyways, thats just of short clips so do not read to much into it....

IMO he should be Portugal's new starting sriker. Hugo Almeida had 2 games to prove himself and it was a great chance for him considering the oppenents were lesser known weaker teams than Portugal (even though they played decently).

Makukula should definately play over Nuno Gomes and Almeida. He was such an important factor in the attack at the end of the game. He had little playing time and still manage to turn things around so quickly. Almeida cant finish, and what Portugal needs is a finisher because Ronaldo, Simao, Quaresma, Nani, Veloso basically the whole team can deliver and cross the ball well but we'll never score like that by using Almeida. Makukula is our best option to take advantage of attack. As soon as the guy came in we developed more oppurtunities to score in those last few minutes than we did the whole game.

I cannot comment on that aspect yet. I haven't seen Maku play yet. How come we don't have a god damn Maritimo supporter somewhere in here. We are all glory hunters, except GoodDead.

we do have one around here, his name is Verde Rubro.

my grandfather is a maritimo socio but he doenst use computers ahahah.
Maritimo's strike force of maku and kanu is one of the main reasons why they are doing so well in the liga this season.

almeida and maku need to be on the squad

for now the three strikers being called up should be Maku, almeida , and gomes
