I will start with my squad...

    Squad

    GK
    Vítor Baía
    Helton
    Other

    RD
    Nelson or Abel
Kromkamp (not for more than 4 million euros)
*Bosingwa ( i bet he would do a great job)

    LD
    Nuno Valente
    Leandro

    CD
    Jorge Costa
    Ricardo Costa
    Pedro Emanuel
    Bruno Alves

    DM
*Bosingwa ( he would have the role Costinha had if we get a good RD)
    Raúl Meireles
    Paulo Machado
    Paulo Assunção

    M
Pedro Mendes ( that would be great)
    Lucho Gonzalez
    Ibson

    AM
    Diego
    Leandro do Bonfim
*Jorginho ( can play as forward)

    RW
    Quaresma
    Bruno Gama

    LW
    Ivanildo
    Diogo Valente

    ST
    Postiga
    Sokota
    Lisandro Lopez
    Hugo Almeida
    Bruno Moraes
    *Jorginho

With Ivanildo, Bruno Gama, Paulo Machado and the third GK playing ocasionally for the B team, we could also have other B team players on the A team like Vieirinha and others.

We would bough either Kromkamp, Abel or Nelson for the RB, Bosingwa would be the other player for the rd position.

If we bought Pedro Mendes, either Raul Meireles or Paulo Assunção would be loaned.

On the ST position we would have to many options, so probably someone would be loaned, especcially if Co Adriaanse plays with 1 lone striker.

    Loaned, Sold or Released
    Pepe (loaned)
    César Peixoto (sold)
    Marco Ferreira (sold)
Hugo Leal (released, sold or loaned :) )
    Jankauskas (sold)
    McCarthy (sold)
    Nuno (sold)
Pitbull (sold, despite me thinking that he shoud had more opportunities...)
    Léo Lima (loaned, sold)
    Areias (released, sold)

Squad would have no more than 28 players with some of them playing for both the A and the B team.

Starting eleven (it seems Co likes the 4-3-3, but i believe he will play in 4-4-2 when he see´s the players he has on the squad, right now without Pedro Mendes and Kromkamp, would be something like this...)

    GK
    Vítor Baía

    RD
    Bosingwa

    LD
    Nuno Valente

    CD
    Ricardo Costa
    Bruno Alves/Jorge Costa/Pedro Emanuel

    M
    Ibson
    Lucho
    Diego
    Quaresma

    ST
    Postiga or Hugo Almeida
    Lisandro Lopez or Jorginho

P.S. I don´t care who will start on the ST position i simply want to see us scoring goals... this season was embarassing 39 goals on the Superliga, 1 on the Portuguese Cup, 1 on the European Super Cup, 1 on the Portuguese Super Cup, and 6 on the CL making a total of 48 !!!

Lisandro Lopez needs to be your Striker... he's being handed the position: it's his job to lose! And where is Ibson, the best player since January?

My starting 11 so far :

    GK- Baia
RD- Bosingwa (lets convert him to a right defender , indefinetly)
    CD- Pedro Emanuel
CD- Fernando Meira (lets hope he comes)
LD- Nuno Valente (leandro can take his spot if need be )
    DM-Ibson
    RM- Lucho
    LM- Quaresma
    AM-Diego
    F- Lopez
S- Postiga (playing in front of lopez)

Our attack seem really strong especially with lucho and quaresma on the flanks ..and with a confident postiga and a quick and "derlei" type lopez behind him ........ LOOKIN GOOD !

ps....we should focus on defense type players from now on ... a central defender (meira) and a right back if possible .

I hate to be the one expressing some aprehension, but no matter how I try to set the team in my mind, it still looks terribly unbalanced.

We don't have a top deffensive midfielder
    No winger on the left
The entire defense is poor and definitely lacks depth

And I don't have a clue why we have so many creative/offensive midfielders!

I wish these signings we're hearing about were the result of Adriaanse's carefully tought up plan based on the team's deficiencies... but unfortunately it doesn't look that way.

I love PdC as much as any Portista, but when I hear that there's a chance we'll sell McCarthy to Newcastle (and add some 5 million euros to that) in order to get Hugo Viana... pessimism just creeps in. I really hope Porto doesn't indulge the typical Lisbon press that's been insistingly conjuring up deals with every club they can think of. I hope we keep him because, obviously, he scares the crap out of some people. The same people who will bring up his discipline problems forgeting that discipline problems can be dealt with (I remember with Mourinho we didn't have any).

Anyway, that's just my pessimistic rant.

    Carry on.... :D

I honestly don't think they have enough quality players for a "starting eleven":D

    It's been a slow week:D

I wouldn't go as far as to say we can't field a "quality starting 11".
In fact, I think our current team (as it is) would be enough to contend on (at least) equal terms with any other in domestic competitions.

The problem is the CL and maintaining a minimum level of performance, consistent with what is EXPECTED from FC Porto. I'm talking about making it to the round of 16, maybe even the quarter-finals. Anything less than that should be considered a failure.

I agree, but like you mentioned...I don't see a well balanced Porto team with the current make up...I don't know who else he plans to bring in, but the defensive sector looks a bit shaky...
