yes, I do realize that. But I am not a student of this thread so I was hoping someone could summarize.

what a very disappointing career trajectory... serves as a cautionary tale of just cuz you do very well on the youth national teams doesn't mean you'll be very successful with club.
Czech Republic 2nd tier: Luis Gil, once the top young U.S. prospect in MLS, is now playing for Viktoria Zizkov in Czech 2nd tier. https://t.co/SlcbvEoDY2— Paul Kennedy (@pkedit) July 19, 2019 @TheFalseNine -- Let's update title: Luis Gil at FK Viktorie Žižkov (Czech Rep)
He should've gone to Arsenal. I'm glad to see that most young Americans are focused on doing whatever it takes to play at the highest level, rather than staying within their comfort zone.
Good point. My bad. However, having the challenge of playing in different leagues, where the environment is more competitive and cutthroat might have helped him. He wouldn't have been able to go to Arsenal right away, but he could've been sent on loan anywhere. The clubs looking at him obviously had a vision in mind. Who knows.
Hmmm...I'm pretty sure MLS is a higher level than the Czech 2nd division (and the 1st division, too). Though, given that he's dropped to the Czech 2nd division, he very well might have been dumped from any MLS club by this point. We'll never know.
I feel like there’s more behind him doing this. There’s no way a better team wouldn’t sign him on resume alone, and I’m not a Luis Gil fan either. Maybe he really likes Prague or something, I mean it is a nice spot.
Perhaps, but there are 5 bigger clubs in Prague. Zizkov barely survived falling to the 3rd division last season and are expected to struggle again this year. Financially they are in a really rough spot as well so its not like he got a big offer. He clearly doesn't seem good enough for the 2 big clubs, but I think anyone with his amount of MLS experience should at least be good enough to compete for a spot Bohemians 1905 or start at Dukla Prague (were relegated but should challenge for promotion).
Played a full 90 in 2-0 loss to cross-town rivals Dukla. He's getting minutes, but not much detail on performances.
