Starts against Ajax. 0-0 in 10’ but pretty much one-way traffic for Ajax. DLT did draw a YC when he and a Ajax player went after a loose ball and he got stomped.
1-0 for Ajax in 22’ off corner. DLT playing as CAM but may only have a couple of touches. Ajax just a lot quicker.
Rough half for Heracles & LDLT individually. Just got mocked by the crowd at the end of the half there for a whiff in the box. He's seeing passes that aren't there under pressure & chasing shadows. They're still only down 1 on the road to mighty Ajax though, thanks to some stellar gk'ing, emergency defending, & near misses.
DLT gets the ball on the box and tries a left footed cross but pretty much whiffs and ball rolls over end line. 1-0 at half. Ajax with 76% possession.
I don't think it's so much physically, but Ajax are moving the ball too fast for him to keep up mentally. And once Heracles receives it he's feeling the pressure to get rid of it quickly under Ajax's swarming d but doesn't have that kind of vision/anticipation. He's used to being able to dribble fw, but they're crowding him immediately, forcing more complex decision-making.
I don’t see much burst certainly compared to Ajax but also his teammates. Maybe he’s still frozen. No doubt Heracles is severely outclassed in this one.

To be fair, most of the time there weren't any offensive players in good enough position to pass that ball to.

Yes, it was after the first half. Game is still going on. There are several minutes left. No, he's setting up pretty high, which has been the norm lately. Sofascore shows him underneath the striker in the 4231. And in general it's kind of a misnomer he's a d-mid. He typically plays a box-to-box ala Jermaine Jones, even if he's in a nominal double pivot like Bradley was. Incidentally, Heracles just scored the late winner on a counter w/ some nice one-touch football, switching, and a final key pass; none of which LDLT was involved in.
But that's on him. He missed opportunities to set up teammates & to score from decent positions. The goal came because they moved the ball & exploited space more quickly w/out his involvement. Sofascore gave him the 3rd worst rating on the team - 6.8. That backs up what I saw. Mediocre game. Some good, some bad, nothing great, nor terrible.

As you'd expect, it looks almost all of the players selected are from top half of the table teams. He and Kramer are the only two who aren't, I think.
Yeah. With a Team of the month you eliminate incidental performances like occurring in teams of the week, as for lower table club players with most of the times lesser talents it's a tough thing to put above average performances on the table consistently.
