He was good but sometimes he holds the ball to long and gets shrugged off it.

how many did you lose by today, Pep?

I think he needs to learn that there are people much stronger than him. But with Salah and Milner on that side, he had wise heads to learn from.

That was a really enjoyable way to start the season.

It was a really solid performance from Liverpool. We defended really well. Van Dijk and Matip kept Haaland quiet. Trent scored a great goal and Robertson had a great assist. Robertson was arriving at the back post time and time again. That looks like something we’ve been working on.

I thought Thiago was excellent in midfield. Salah looks to be in great form. His ball to Darwin at the back post to win the penalty was so good.

All of the subs made a great impact. Elliott was really good when he came on, there was no drop off at right back when Milner came on, and Naby was good as well.

And then there is Darwin. What a debut.

Can’t wait for the rest of this season. Up the Reds.

It's not mentioned because of his amazing start last half season, but he really needs to work on this. Ball hoggers don't do well in the EPL esp with double teaming and reactive tactics by opposition.

I was expecting more from shitty in the second half. The stats say that had a bit more possession and more passes. But their attacking was limited to one debatable goal and the possession and passing was a result of our guys pressing and them backing up. Liver Lips was pretty ineffective and limited to a few half chances. He made a couple of promising runs but our guys cut off the plays that should have reached him.
Devon did more in the minutes he was on the pitch. Shudda scored with one header. Slid a good effort by the post and scored one.

Nice. Can be a fantasy football team name. Mine is currently FC Salah-Manca. Pun on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.

I thought Elliott had the ball taken from him too easily and too often.

That Nunez header gets better each time you see it. Very clever goal.

Always nice to beat the oil. And my word Haaland is one ugly sob.

He’s in competition with Foden for the ugliest honour.

Feel free to dig this up in 11 months, but I think Haaland will not be the player for City they think he will be. He doesn’t mesh with them at all and Guardiola isn’t going to overhaul his philosophy to accommodate him. I also think that the adjustment from BL to PL is going to attrit some of his production. He doesn’t pass well or link up or drop to midfield well. I think it’s 50/50 he’s opting out in 2 years and joining Madrid.

I think it’s a drop-dead certainty he’s opting out in 2 years and joining Madrid.

Noted, but it's one game and DeBruyne will adjust even if HaHa doesn't.

That was one of his biggest positives when we signed him - a "big" guy that can essentially sprint. He's possible Fernando Torres.

I think both 9’s yesterday showed good movement, but Haaland looks really clumsy and gets his body in really weird shapes. He keeps that up and he’s going to rip up his knees…. I don’t care how good you are, if you can’t stay healthy, you aren’t going to be that good (eg. Sturridge).

at times he'seems like he's assembled from spare parts that don't quite fit together.

I think the style of play will have far more to do with it than the league.
