That is my whole beef with var. a different var ref every game each with different Ideas on how to interpret the laws. it’s still a man in front of a monitor.
Nope. Lorne seems to have a hate on for Keita. None of our starting 11 did a thing but he showed better than most.
when will it ever shine on you? Have you ever - even once - provided any discussion of value on this board where you haven’t immediately launched into an ad hominem attack on someone? Makes sense that you are a Brexiter.
maybe he’s in between me loling and some people on here creaming over him as he had a great performance for us?
Conversely you have a difficult time ever praising keita. All I saw was Klopp with a beaming smile when Keita came off the field. He knows what Keita’s value is.
I have the same opinion of keita I had for laser markovic he will be a dud. I hope he comes good but I doubt he will
It was really poor until the 3 changes. Origi and Ox particularly struggled. It was clear why Henderson is going to win player of the year. He brings the intensity and tempo. I was glad he left Keita on, and Naby rewarded him with a great assist. The Curtis Jones goal was great football. Curtis was great in the build up and excellent finish. Great to get a win. 4 wins out of 5 for the points record.
I was hoping he would become our Freddie ljungberg. maybe next season he will show his mettle, he looked unplayable at times in Germany.
I actually see it the other way around. Everyone is so focused on Keita that if he has just a normal game and doesn’t win man of the match he gets criticized. If Gini Wijnaldum doesn’t stand out there is not a mention of it. I thought Naby was good, and his pass to Mane was the most important moment of the match.
The English referees are truly abysmal. It’s the inconsistency not just across games but within the same game. VAR is a scapegoat for some truly ordinary officials. The rest of the sporting world, certainly in football in Europe, has smartened on the use of technology. No matter, we got three points from a full match.
indeed it was fun. and in the end he wasn’t considered good enough, no matter how much of a great guy he is
89 pts with 5 games to play in order to break 100. 29 wins with 5 to play to break 32 wins in a season. 20 pts gap between 1st and 2nd. We probably have to win all 5 for that remain as City just have easy games.
Do you think Neco is being groomed to be cover for both left and right? I like him but I have not seen enough of him on the left.
That was a miserable slog for an hour--utterly toothless and managing to make Villa look competent. Putting Origi in the middle neutered the front three, and Ox contributed nothing of note. After the subs, it felt like Liverpool again.
Ian Wright is like the bloke I shared a table (we had safe distance between us.) He's a Spurs fan. He's become that pundit who explains what is there instead of looking for faults where none exists and has graduated from the effusive little Englander who was a token presence. Start at 2:40-ish.
Three points but hard to watch at times. No tempo, ragged passing. But job done in the end. Nice strike by Curtis.
