Its pretty amazing that people from all over the world can follow a team they may never get to see and feel as emotional as if it’s your town. Got to love it.
John Henry -- Liverpool's principal owner John W Henry saluted his team's "season for the ages". He tweeted: "It has been an incredible year of magnificent achievement culminating tonight in capturing the Premier League title. "The totality of this accomplishment has brought respite and joy to so many in a year filled with so much tragedy. "Liverpool has made the beautiful game more beautiful than ever." ********** * *********** * *********** Amen to that....
WOW----that was great to see.... (sometimes I forgive the internet for all its garbage .....) Shades of the All Blacks winding up the Haka!!!!
Champions of Europe Champions of the World Premier League Champions What a dominant display in England! I had the best time following this group of players.
Cheers Fellas! It is not the way I thought this would happen but ******** all!! This was earned! Not given!
I've been posting on this board since 2003. For me the wait has been 18 years. This team is unbelievable. We go to Kiev only to suffer heartbreak. The very next season, we win the European Cup in Madrid. We achieve 97 points and fall one point short. The very next season we have the best season in the history of English football. What an achievement. When Pep Guardiola's Manchester City were reaching 100 points, the rest of England was waiting for Pep to leave before having a go again. Jurgen Klopp was building a team that could not only compete with City, but a team that can ultimately break them. Thursday we go to the Etihad as Champions. Lets crush them once more so that they know that next season will be no different. Liverpool are the best team in the world and we are only getting started.
Definitely not how we expected it. Cheering for Chelsea on June 25th in a match played behind closed doors. However, what I learned about winning the league, in my vast experience of winning leagues, is that its not about that moment when it's finally confirmed. It's not Istanbul, or Barcelona at Anfield, or Origi's goal in Madrid. It's all the moments along the way. We won the league when we crushed City at Anfield. We won the league when Alisson played in Salah to make it 2-0 against the Mancs and Salah took his shirt off. We won the league when we went to 2nd place Leicester, on the back of a trip to Qatar, and put on one of the best display's of football we have ever seen. There was Milner's late penalty at home against Leicester, Mane's header in the unbelievable comeback at Villa, scraping past a stubborn Wolves side...twice. I could go on and on. What a ride it has been. What a team. The only thing that could stop Liverpool was a global pandemic, and even that just delayed the inevitable.
Couldn't be happier to be more wrong about City falling down to earth this season. Liverpool utterly dominant, Klopp is a Liverpool legend... what a manager. Henderson... what can you say. One of the only long-term members of the squad, been here 10 years, seen the ups and downs, fans who wanted him shipped out to make room for this or that player, constant talk of him not being good enough or that he's pedestrian, so much negativity around his time here... and he steps up and has an incredible two years in a row, helping to deliver the 6th european cup and the long-awaited 19th title, as Liverpool captain. What a ********ing warrior, an absolute hero. Thanks to everyone who made this happen. Can't wait to get back and sing on the Kop. Now go get 20 and 21 lads. YNWA.
I am more than okay with my birthday present being one day late. What's one day when you've waited for 30 years? YNWA!
Still waiting for it to sink in. We'eve known this was going to happen for months but to finally get it, to know nobody can take it away. We won the title it's ours. I've been following this club for 20 years, usually just lurk but love this club, and love these boys. There are two matches for me that just define the season, the first is Villa away. The ultimate example of mentality monsters. And Leicester away, where we just dominated and played amazing football away against our closest rivals at the time. Love these lads.
Although not as old as some on here, I am lucky enough to be old enough to remember our last league win. Thirty years later, with my own kids at the age I was back then, its been worth the wait! Think I may have a Carlsberg or two tonight!

Im too lazy now to dig up my prediction from Oct 2015? that Klopp could do it if you gave him 3-4 years. But then again, it wasnt that much of a bold statement for anyone who knew him before
Klopp made the statement himself too! Haha. he was made fun of for saying he expected that in 4 years Liverpool would have 1 title for sure. He meant trophy people pointed out - but boy did he deliver.
Im not quite sure about it but I think said it when Klopp wasnt official yet. ;-) about the time when they were still in NY negotiating
talk about tearjerkers ..... this from bbc: My Dad, who gave me LFC has alzheimer's & in N Wales whilst I am in Hants & not seen him since Feb. We shared the final moment as the whistle went as Chelsea via video call. He was distracted about the storm outside so Mum had trouble keeping him in the moment... but he said The Storm... I added, at the end of a storm, there’s a golden sky & he carried on singing the rest. I sobbed! We will go to Anfield next season together & have our celebration.
