I've told this story before but my dad moved to the US from Iran in 1978 & he was going to school in Kentucky. For the 1982 World Cup, he had to write a letter to one of the local channels begging them not to switch from the Spanish network to BET at a certain hour because it would interfere with some of the games they were broadcasting. Surprisingly, they obliged.
