Yeah, sign the petition. And then insist that the new Cosmos team be placed at Red Bull Arena in Harrison! Not Queens! Between the New York Express, New Jersey Eagles, New York Centaurs, New York/New Jersey MetroStars, and New York Red Bulls, a good number of us old Cosmos fans have been buying season tickets on an annual basis for a couple of decades now in the hopes that the powers-that-be would come to their senses and give us our Cosmos team back eventually. To have the new Cosmos out of reach -- in Queens -- is an injustice to the core of fans who have kept the game alive here (on this side of the East River) since 1985. Let the "New York Red Bulls" play in Queens (at a new "Red Bull Queens Arena"). But let the new Cosmos play at Red Bull Arena in Harrison to the same core of fans who helped build the team in the first place. MLS is going to have a very strange dynamic if many of the Red Bulls season ticket holders in Harrison become fans of the Cosmos who play in Queens. Have you ever heard the term "fifth column?" How about "enemy within?" Or "traitors in our midst?" This dynamic would be easily avoided with the stroke of a pen by Don Garber. "New York Red Bulls" to Queens. "Cosmos F.C." to Harrison. Simple.
Why would The new Cosmos owners build a stadium in queens if it wanted to then trade with Energy Drink Jersey? A ground share would be a much smarter Idea. If a stadium is built in Queens The Cosmos would play there. Your idea is very flawed as you seem to try and not upset Cosmos fans in Jersey, yet you would upset every RBNY/Metro Fan in Jersey, and those under the age of 26 weren't even alive for the cosmos and have only known Metro/rbny.
