OMG ! What was he thinking? Silly play getting thrown out at second to end the game. I think he got jobbed on that call. He beat the tag.
Games are 6 innings. And as both a soccer fan and a LL fan, I can wait until the LL game is over to watch soccer.
9 and a half hours....finally a goal...I will take the credit: being a huge Led Zeppelin fan and a complete soccer nutter, I was singing to myself on the way to the bank this morning to the tune of D'yer M'aker " oh, oh oh oh oh, we can't score a goal, oh oh oh oh, we can't score a goal, oh oh oh oh, we can't score a goal..."; pleased with myself for combining Zeppelin and footy I must have mumbled that little tune for about 4 blocks, I'm guessing it took a flight to San Jose and inspired Ray and the boys to score while we weren't looking, just to mess with me... PS: Saw in this months 442 that Robert Plant is a HUGE fan of Wolves.
I gotta say, though, that Lopez kid looked like a hell of a pitcher. I was a bit worried that, starting a 1-0 count after giving up two hits in the 6th, he was going to lose his composure and let the NC kids comeback, further delaying our start time, but bad baserunning fixed that. Later, COZ
It's rather amusing to watch the Little League World Series at times. When the kids commit an error, the camera always pans to their face to see them crying. Yes, I'm an unsentimental bastard
When I see them spitting and acting like grown men, I want to reach into the screen and ring their necks. I wouldn't mind seeing one of them get beaned in the head by a pitch or by a hard-hit ball. Let's see the little bastards bleed. I like seeing the kids cry, too, when they inevitably make a stupid mistake. And the icing on the cake is when they pan to the parents crying too. There's no crying in baseball, you stupid brats! - Paul
You have to give it to those little kids though. They play with twice the heart of any pro sports group I have seen. They just play for the love of the game and don't get paid, kind of like MLS players.
I agree. I saw some fat kid nearly have a coronary trying to run the base path. (That was before I realized what I was watching, and could grab the remote.)
The second baseman for the Hawaii team says his dream is to play in the WC. I think the 1st baseman's favorite non-baseball player was Beckham. The thought of many viewers wretching upon hearing that made my day.
