Doing nothing all game and Amorim has made no effective adjustments. And Esgaio is playing which just tells me this coach is vastly overrated and has no idea wtf he’s doing.
Only 90 more minutes (or less) of Sarabia at Alvalade. 4th time where we play 3 mobile players up front and no "striker", and 4th game where we score 3+ goals. We've scored 13 in 4 games recently without Paulinho/Slimani. While I still think we need upgrade up front, I don't want a target man that waits for crosses and doesn't contribute much, but someone who combines with the other 2 up front and confuses the opposition marking. Again I always compare it to Liverpool's front 3 (with the obvious difference in quality). Tabata with a great game, he deserved more minutes this season and I hope he stays and gets them, he's a great squad player to have. Utter domination in the 1st half squandered with 2 awful errors from Coates and Inacio. Clearly we need upgrades in the back as well (St. Juste?) Matheus and Palhinha have been great for us but the game changed when we had ballers in Ugarte, Bragança and Sarabia come on. Matheus/Palhinha was great last season when we sat back and countered a lot because they had space to run and carry the ball box-to-box (especially Matheus). But this year we've had way more possession against teams sitting back, and we need creative playmakers who are good at positional play, not sure Matheus Nunes is there yet. A win next week and we finish on 85 points - the same points as last year. In fact, 85 points would have been good to win at least 9 titles in the last few years. It's disappointing we didn't defend the title but it's also the first time in 50+ years that we finish 2nd after being champions the year before. While it's disappointing and there are things to improve, we're on the right track.
