Absolutely hate listening to these Benfica commentators. They would have called that offside if we scored that
I know it was. But they're quick to jump on anything that is in their favor. Roles would have been reversed if we scored that, but whatever. It is what it is.
Cheers guys. We should have had 3rd guaranteed 2 games ago. Now we have to play a qualifier for Europa League. At least this season is over. Time to make deals.
Tough to swallow but ultimately this season wasnt as bad as I thought it would be... I was honestly expecting a mid table finish at best.
if Pedro Porro and Feddal are any indication of what’s coming, expect another fourth place finish next season.
Oh well. Shit season, glad it’s over. 4th place is all we deserve if we’re honest but that’s a hell of a lot better than it could’ve been Also, just noticed @Joe Martelo for someone who doesn’t like Sporting you certainly post a lot about us
He has to keep his ex wife up to date with world class scouting and coaching reports with opinions that change every post.
I don’t like sporting or any of the big 2 sides (Porto, Benfica). I like a small club montalagre as that is where I am from. I also do like setubal as they were willing to hire me. I have some contacts in Portugal, believe it or not a couple of Them have been speaking to Sporting about me. We will See what happens but Covid -19 Has made it very hard .if has affected the football economy quite a bit as well. It’s hard to get jobs with clubs right now especially when you live in Canada such as myself.
Saw this somewhere else, but worthy of a repost. Some facts of this season: - lost all 4 games against Porto and Benfica. 2 goals for 8 against. - eliminated from the taca by a 3rd div team, something that hasn't happened since 1948/49 - eliminated from Europe after being up by 3 goals - 4 managers throughout the season - paid 10mil for a manager only to finish behind the team we paid all that money to - said team had 5 managers throughout the year and still finished ahead of us - 9 signings this year, basically all failed - outside the top 3 for the first time since 2012/2013 when we finished the lowest in the history of the club - 49 goals for this year. 12 less than Braga. 4 less than guimaraes and famaliacao. One more than Rio ave. Haven't scored so few goals since 2012/13 when we scored a remarkable 36 - 17 losses this year. Most in history of the club.
Thats what happens when you have an inexperienced guy as president of a club, and a sporting director with no experience. It almost feels like deja vu again. We spent so long trying to get rid of so many fodder players only to replace with new ones. Time to step it up. Anyone see this snippet from an interview Jesé had? https://www.record.pt/futebol/futeb...stos-comigo?ref=HP_1BucketDestaquesPrincipais
Anyone see the scathing attack by Braga's president? Saying that we did everything including take their coach mid season and that we haven't paid a penny of the 10 million? Which by the way apparently already has a late penalty fee of 1.5 million and a monthly compounded 80K on top of that (its been like 5 months now so 300K). So almost 12 million now for a coach that doesn't have a full coaching license. And people said JJ was expensive. At least your paying for a coach with a proven track record.
Do you even have a university degree in English? Well, I do and let me tell you anyone who doesn't have one should not be allowed to write in the english language.
United are winning and qualifying for the champions league as it stands, hopefully means we get a bit of a payout from clauses in his contract
