Trincao! 1-2 He shoots and the ball just creeps into the corner with nobody touching the ball on the way in
I’m still not saying he’s a fantastic player, but Paulinho seems to have really benefited from Gyo coming in. He’s never going to be the clinical number 9 to lead the line, but he certainly has his uses
2-3, Vizela scores. Coates completely outmuscled there. not good at all, but fair play to their striker, he was very strong there, Gyokeres-esque
He’s been great this year, top 5 in goals in the league I think. Definitely not good enough for Gyos spot, but seems to play well when there isn’t much pressure on him
Need more depth at the back. Cannot have Esgaio playing games if we're serious about a title challenge
Gyokeres with a banger for 5-2 Scoring for fun recently! Gyokeres already 22 goals he already equalled his tally from last season and it's January. Paulinho also with 13 goals this season, he's been important
Nuno Santos too tbh. I feel like he escapes a lot of criticism because Esgaio has been so bad, but he hasn't been great either. Wasted crosses and a sieve on defense.
“I love them”pic.twitter.com/XwLohr6bb9— B24 (@B24PT) January 18, 2024 How can you not love this dude? 22 goals and 9 assists in 25 games Also shout out to Trincão who benched Edwards and has been fantastic
Ivory Coast are facing going out of the ACON early. If a few results fall our way we could have Diomande back soon! Only team to have played all 3 games out of the 3rd place team potentials - their poor GD after a 4-0 drubbing puts them high risk of going out He wasn't even in the squad for their final group game, but I can't find a reason why?
He got smoked by Osimhen last game, could be a reason why, although a little harsh. Looks like Geny will be coming back early too.
Amorim basically said in today's press conference that if he doesn't win a trophy this year he's leaving. A club like Sporting cannot go 2 years without a trophy, he said. Indirectly in my opinion, he's saying he's leaving either way this season. If he wins the league, he'll go out as one of our best managers ever in terms of results. If he fails, he'll leave with the "excuse" that he's done all he can. Our president will NEVER fire Amorim because he IS the project. I think this summer we will see a merry go round of managers due to the Liverpool and Barcelona situations. Even if Amorim doesn't go to those 2 massive clubs, the likes of Xabi Alonso, De Zerbi, etc are being linked and if they leave, Leverkusen and Brighton jobs are available.
Would suck if he left, Sporting before him was a disaster. It has been nice even being considered title candidates again. I’d be very surprised if he went to any of those four clubs. Two of them are hardly step ups, one of them is one of the worst ran clubs in the world, and Liverpool would want a bigger name.
True, but other jobs could open up due to those clubs looking for managers potentially. I don't see him going to any massive club yet, I'm thinking champions league contenders. But a rebuilding team liked Man Utd, maybe a Napoli, AC Milan, Dortmund could change managers.
