We now know the calendar for the 2022/23 Liga Bwin... and of course its a tough one for us to start.

Matchday 1 is a trip to Braga. At least we get that out of the way quickly. FC Porto hosts Maritimo while Benfica hosts Arouca to start.

Matchday 2 is our first home game against promoted Rio Ave. Porto travels to Vizela while Benfica travel to promoted Casa Pia.

Matchday 3 is the first derby. FC Porto vs. Sporting. Two of the toughest away trips in the first 3 games.

Matchday 4 is Sporting vs. Chaves, while Matchday 5 is Estoril vs. Sporting

Edit: More games revealed, the rest of the calendar for us is as follows.
    Sporting vs. Portimonense
    Boavista vs. Sporting
    Sporting vs Gil Vicente
    Santa Clara vs. Sporting
Sporting vs. Casa Pia (and Porto vs. Benfica Matchday 10)
    Arouca vs. Sporting
    Sporting vs. Guimaraes
    Famalicao vs. Sporting
    Sporting vs. Pacos Ferreira
    Maritimo vs. Sporting
Benfica vs. Sporting (Matchday 16, which means the 2nd last game of the season is Sporting vs, Benfica)
    Sporting vs. Vizela

I don’t like the schedule . We don’t do well when we have to come from behind. The first half is hard so it makes it more likely we are gonna enter the segunda Volta behind the leader.

First game is upon us and it's again a tough start. Away to Braga under a new coach Artur Jorge. We know for sure Adan is out, and Ugarte, St. Juste are injury doubts.

Nunes with a dagger pass to Porto who sends it to Pote for the finish. What a nasty play

And then a great goal by Nuno Santos to make it 1-2.

Inacio is not a good player. He can't handle pressure, has no touch. He's not NT material and isn't good enough for this team. Period.

If you want to say currently that can be a debate …. But he is 20 years old so let’s take a step back and compare him to all the other 20 year old defenders playing on a top 3 team in Portugal…(should be easy to do it’s a very short list lol)

    2-2 Grrrrrrr

I'm not comparing to anyone but himself. He's not a good player. Period. He's weak as shit. I'll take the €45 million and he can take hike and take Paulinho with him..

I know nothing about Portuguese football. Are Sporting Lisbon title contenders, or perpetually 3rd, like Feyenoord in the Dutch league?

Esgaio is the gift that keeps on giving. He will be the worst signing in the history of this club when all is said and done. He is not good at anything. And yet, Amorim keeps playing him..

There is the ‘Big 3’ in Portugal which has really been more of a ‘Big 2’ over the last several decades. It’s Porto and Benfica then Sporting if we’re being honest. That said, we’re just 2 seasons removed from a championship and the expectations is still contention.

What can we expect from St. Juste?

Did Amorim get too cute with the substitutions? I get the logic behind bringing in Esgaio after subbing Rochinha for Porro but Jesus did he ever get burned on that tying goal only minutes after coming on…

Sounds like a Feyenoord-type club. Netherlands used to be Big 3, but lately only Big 2 (Ajax, PSV).

St. Juste spent the last 2-3 seasons in Germany with Mainz, but he is fast and can play either right centre back or right back. If that 20-year-old at RB is problematic now, St. Juste could easily fill that position.

If I go the IPTV route, I will probably catch some of these SCP matches this season. I had a one-day free trial for today.
