Danger Mouse & Gemini - The Mouse and The Mask http://www.mediafire.com/?mcwz4wcjzng DL that bad boy and let me know what you think. Album is fire. If anyone is interested I could post some more link to good hip hop albums.
Blog with mbv's 'warm up gig'. BTW, I saw them twice in a 5 day span in London. When I got home I cleaned out my ears with Q-Tips and some dried blood came out. I have no problem wearing earplugs when they come to USA. BBTW, when we were lining up to go in, the Motorhead/my bloody valentine 'who is loudest' debate came up. The crustiest guy in line had this to say, "I've seen Motorhead play in a club, many many years ago. They are LOUD. But mbv... they are ********ING LOUD."
Nice find Monty. Must've been a great trip. I'm gong to be in NY the week before the ATP Festival downstate and was thinking about going. I might still do it. There are also a couple more '08 MBV shows up on www.dimeadozen.org right now in lossless format. Some amazing stuff pops up on that site.
Anyone listening to El Guincho? He's from the Canary Islands but is based in Barcelona. The album Alegranza is great. It kinda sounds like Animal Collective if they made upbeat tropicalia, dub, afrobeat inspired music. It's one crazy collage of samples and sounds with chants in Spanish, Catalan, and who knows what else sung over them.
Afu-Ra - Body of The Life Force http://www.megaupload.com/pt/?d=ENND1B66 One of the most complete albums you will ever here. Full of energy and raw hip hop. You might have heard of Afu in Gangstarr albums back in the day. ========================================================== Asheru & Blue Black of the Unspoken Heard - 48 Months http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9A2410B0 This group, along with Panacea, are the best groups you've never heard of. This group is characterized by their flow. You'll love them. ========================================================== Hieroglyphics - Full Circle (Use BT) http://www.btmon.com/Audio/Unsorted/Hieroglyphics_-_Full_Circle325890285758.075.torrent.html I love west coast hip hop because of this album. Nuff said. ========================================================== Jazz Liberatorz - Clin D Oeil (Scroll down a bit and click DL) http://www.plunder.com/Jazz-Liberatorz-Clin-d-oeil-download-110225.htm Jazz and rap make sweet love in this album. ========================================================== People Under The Stairs - Stepfather http://rapidshare.com/files/60052501/faXcooL.blogspot.com_People_Under_The_Stairs-Stepfather-2006.rar P.U.T.S is similar to Heiroglyphics in that they are an underground rap group from Cali but their style is much different. They have come out with several albums and this is one of their best.
^^^would rep if i could! There was a group out of Berkeley called Mystical Journeymen or something like that. You don't happen to have any of their stuff, do you?
Not familiar with them. I only have part of one of the Living Legends CD. If I could figure out how to upload stuff I could post it here.
First thing is to have .mp3's. If you have stuff on CD, use iTunes. Go into Preferences > Advanced and the Importing Tab. Set it to .mp3 encoder, 192kbps or higher. Then insert CDs and rip 'em. Second thing is to have your .mp3's in a zipped up folder. You can context click on the song in iTunes and find the folder of the album. Use an archive program to zip up the folder, such as WinZip or WinRar (I believe if you are on XP there's an archive program already on there). Third thing is to put the zipped up folder on the webs. Megaupload.com, sendspace.com, yousendit.com, rapidshare.com... there's tons of these. And all of these programs are free.
Decompoze - Decomposition Just sit back and be prepared to be amazed. http://rapidshare.com/files/128710799/Decompoze.rar.html Let me know if this works so I can post more.
Here is the mecca of music pirating. Once you go here you will never come back. You have been warned. http://my.opera.com/BIG_ZEKEL/blog/
Try this site. Use BT by the way. http://thepiratebay.org/tor/3674650/Decompoze_-_Decomposition_%5B2007%5D_%5BHip_Hop%5D That blog has so many artists I've never heard of.
Umm... I don't download "pirated" music. I download digital "back-ups" of music for which I've already paid.
See folks, this is bringing your A game. I will evaluate the hell out of this album. Rep'd For anyone who's interested, Pitchfork is streaming performances live from the this year's fest on this page. As of the time of this posting, they're warming up for Public Enemy's performance. They're doing the complete album of "It's Takes a Nation of Millions...". Couldn't make it today, but I am planning to attend the rest of the fest. Really looking forward to Spoon.
The Pitchfork fest has the best line up of any American festival so far this year. It's sick. You should check out Titus Andronicus tomorrow. They're awesome live.
