What did I say? :D Try van Persie as a forward (or behind the forward...still a forward in my book) the position he also plays for Jong Oranje...and what do you know, he does it well indeed. Not only does he score the winning goal for Feyenoord in this training tournament's last game (and one in the other game as well in that position) which gives Feyenoord the trophy..he's also named the best player of the tournament.

Sh¡t, I don't care if he plays as a left forward either (which he also does great) this guy doesn't deserve to sit on the bench.

Apparently Carlos Bocanegra had a great match for the US tonight, I'm guessing his time at Feyenoord, albeit two weeks showed him what he needed to work on.

They need to sign Kuyt in order to sell P-Air, but big money is good money.

Something tells me that playing against the attackers at Feyenoord is a little more difficult than playing against Canada's. :) I think he's under contract with the league until the completion of the 2004 season. The only trouble then is that he might have enough caps for a UK work permit, and we know there's more money there than there is in Holland.

he should lock up the caps by 2004, but he might be edgy go get back to Holland.

I could alert West Ham and have them say "We'll take it under advisement" translation "American doesn't know crap!

Van Marwijk wants to keep Acuña - LINK

He was ok in the match against Celtic, thought he was a little slow, but still ok. Now the club has to see if they can make a deal with the player to keep him in Rotterdam.

Better news is Robin van Persie scored a couple of goals, and played well against Celtic.

In a friendly, well not so friendly match, Feyenoord busted up Go Ahead Eagles, 7-0. Robin van Persie, 4 goals and 2 assists.

Manly yes, but I like him too.

Feyenoord win again, Robin van Persie gets his first official goal. Should be more where that came from.

Oh, Willem II has a gold shirt.

    wrong team

That would be FC Twente with a gold shirt....since they're the ones Feyenoord were playing.

    Ajax were up against WII

RvP lights it up in a Dutch Cup match. 5 goals.

I hope I get to go to Holland next month.

Is this guy the next Dutch superstar? I saw some highlights of him and, uh, I think he's pretty skilled. :)

Yep. The kid is a super talent, and is 19.

He had a nice goal last weekend againt Twente, and then five in a Dutch Cup match.

Panic you're really getting on my nerves. You haven't even seen the match, you're god knows how many miles away and still you try to talk the talk.

    Looks kinda silly actually.

    Geez AFCA,

it is the Feyenoord thread isn't it?

Of course I'm not going to say "RvP was lucky to score against the mighty Ajax, and may have committed a foul against the superstar Chivu in doing so"

I don't have the benefit of the full match, but the highlights showed that Ajax was probably off side for their goal, and RvP got his hands on Chivu. The first was probably a blown call by the linesman. The second would have been difficult for the official to call from his position on the field.

    What more do you want?

By the way, how is John O'Brien? Will he ever return?

    That's what you thought? *sigh*

JoB is still injured but it shouldn't be too long anymore.

I couldn't just let you walk away "scott free".
    :D

Well it would be nice for Ajax to have JoB back. He seemed to like FC Utrecht when he was there.
