RE Henry: There was a note on Twitter today that she's very unhappy about not being selected to the squad--as one might expect!

Henry's agent and a high-placed administator at Lyon have also come forward to shoot Corinne Diacre. The war between the coach and Lyon is coming in the open. No one is hiding any more.

Corinne Diacre apparently dropped Henry in retalation for her being the leader of the latest rebellion when the FFF president came to Lyon to give them some medals. This is a terrible way to manage players. And shooting yourself in the foot when you have to play the your toughest opponent in the group.

Also Diacre and the goalie coach have tested positive to Covid-19 so they are not present at the camp and the two games also Diacre will do video conferencing on daily basis.

I also heard a rumour that she could go soon. And to be honest, it's either her on the Senior Lyon players. As I said before if would be a huge gamble to play without all the Lyon senior players and a bet on 2023 and 2024.

Would the FFF sacrfiice the team on the short term? One player came publicly in support of Diacre but anonymously because she does not want the backlash from the Lyon players.

Basically only the FFF president Noel Le Graet is backing Diacre and he might be beaten at the next FFF election. Her position is very weak and this is not good for our NT.

France v North Macedonia will have less than 1 000 fans tonight in Orleans. Tickets did not go to general sale due to government advice. There is also a 9 pm curfew which is going in most of the country and preventing fans from attending late night games.

Luckily that area will enter the curfew zone at midnight tonight so fans will have to rush home before midnight.

France is going into lockdown effective on Friday. Doubt any sports get played anytime soon.

50 000 new cases a day recently. It has shot up and hospital beds willbe soon saturated.

D1 Arkema will carry on if it is considered as professional sports as those are allowed to carry on.

Bouhaddi taking the fight against Diacre on social media and tv interviews

First mocking Diacre starting 11 choice against Austria

Then criticising the coach for not saying hello to the OL players at a film Premiere, rightly so if it is true.

She is obviously pushing for Diacre to get sacked, it is an interesting calculation to make because there is no guarantee that upcoming manager if Diacre is sacked will take her back. If he/she is happy with Peyraud-Magnin, Bouhaddi temporary retirement could be made permanent.

If I would be a coach I wouldn`t nominate such a player for my squad even if she is better than her replacement.

She’s really emotional about this to resort to putting all her hatred on the social media because this is asking to be kicked out of the NT by the French football organization.

Maybe she thinks she has nothing to lose because she considers her NT career to be finished anyway.

The Lyon players have a huge power at their club, they actually decide when the coach get sacked as mentioned by President Aulas. So they want the same power with the NT and have been trying since 2011. They got it from 2013 to 2017 without results.

Now the mega influential Lyon president Aulas is asking for a meeting to be organised between Diacre, the FFF president Le Graet and the Lyon players to sort out the mess.

He is right things cannot carry on like this, it is embarassing. Players throwing their toys out of the pram, a coach who is not communicating well with her key players and antagonize them actually.

There is no way our team can do anything good at the tournament, should we qualify, if there is a constant infighting in public and in private.

I am not sure that meeting will result in anything else than Diacre and the players agreeing to disagree and the OL players ending up not being called up any more.

There was a really strange pre-game preview from the team GPSO 92 Issy that will play Soyaux on Saturday in the D1 Arkema. Soyaux the club where Corinne Diacre was born.

The last two sentence are special:" she would like to get away from the 30 years old + Lyon players' hegemony with the Euro 2022 in England and World Cup 2023 in Australia at the horizon Not an easy thing to do. "

Lyon players in their thirties in 2022: Bouhaddi 36, Henry 33, Le Sommer 33, Renard 32. Majri will be 29...

After all this time I thought the coach decides who she wants on the team, didn’t realize the players can choose who is going and not.

With the France NT, it has been a fight to control the team for many years now.

2009-13 Juvisy was the main influence via Thiney-Soubeyrand under Bini.
2013-16 Lyon took over with PSG helping as Bergeroo came in and gave them the power.
2016-17 Echouafni tried to keep everyone happy
2017-now Diacre arrived changed the captaincy and upset the equilibrium built by Echouafni with her direct and quite autocratic methods.

And the results well are consistent

    2009 Euros QF
    2011 WC 4th place
    2012 OG 4th place
    2013 Euros QF
    2015 WC QF
    2016 OG QF
    2017 Euros QF
    2019 WC QF

The reality is regardless of the coach and training methods QF has been a ceiling for many years.

Fans have calling for the NT coaches' head since 2011.It's never the players fault for them because OL are winning everything the NT should automatically do the same.

Fans should take note of how many relevant internationals OL have had in their roster along these years, before making the equation OL = France NT. :coffee:

And the latest drama. Henry went to the biggest football the Canal Plus Football show to shoot missiles at the coach. They are even further than the point of no return now.

It has now reached the mainstream media and journos know even ask the men's team captain Hugo Lloris and the men's team manager Didier Deschamps about it.

The FFF president also seems to have stopped backing Diacre properly, so she will need to go soon or she will have to get rid of all the players that are rebelling.

The situation was already quite thorny, I am curious about how could it even escalate furtherly: since you write that it reached mainstream media, can you give any link to a video or article? (Consider that I can understand French without much effort).

Thank you very much, it was very interesting. And in fact she said fair and square that the problem is the coach and that it's not a question of OL players vs other players: she says that a very large part of the team is behind her and I don't think she would dare to say that if she hadn't some clear signs that it's true.
