    Previously rather good midfielder.

Injury hit his career bad just as he broke into the England team and he never really recovered his previous form.

Could do a job in the Championship but at 33 isnt worth taking on I wouldnt say. Leeds are building a new team for the future - Stone doesnt have more than 1 season left IMO.

Did this guy ever play for Pompey? I don't recall ever seeing him in any of their matches. What sort of injury did he have?

He broke his leg three times and also sustained a serious knee injury

If he can stay injury free, he'll probably do really well. Most portsmouth fans thought he was worth another contract at Fratton Park. He's the type of player that'll run himself into the ground and not give up.

I guess Redknapp tried to sign him as well, which says something. Hopefully his legs and knees will hold out. I don't think he'll be getting many more England caps though, although, I'd love him to prove me wrong :D
