Call me strange or whatever, but I'm really looking forward to watching small-market moneyballed MLS teams beat up on LigaMX stalwarts. Sure, it won't happen every match but when it does it's going to be glorious. I'm here for it.
Meant to comment on this earlier, but I have a suspicion FIFA is going to be a thing of the past in the near-ish future. Trying to strong arm confederations and leagues, and ruining the World Cup is eventually going to come to roost
Will be interesting to see where the league overall stands against LigaMX. I feel like the mid to bottom of MLS is above the mid to lower or LigaMX, but this will show that. I don't see a merger, this is just LigaMX trying to cash in more gate revenue. And MLS might as well profit from it at the same time. Will raise the overall status of both leagues in the long run.
Just based on the dates released of the beginning and end of the tournament- sometime between July 21 and July 31, 2023 Pachuca just won 5-1 in the Leg 1 of the Liga MX final. Barring a collapse in leg 2 at home, this is all but official.

I wasn’t pumped in preseason having the STL tix pushed on me as part of my package. Well, that opinion didn’t age well haha.
My tix rep called me yesterday and said they are still waiting on exact schedule before allowing opt out. Shortly thereafter I got email saying essentially the same thing. So we should be receiving that notification soon.
