Thanks, just listened to it. Someone else was filling in for Rick Barry. I'm very encouraged by the players' commitment to San Jose. Landon noted that the team's been rallying on the field since the relocation news really heated up. He also seemed a lot less amenable to playing in Texas than in the Merc article a couple days ago.
I vote we give Texas back to Mexico as punishment for giving us George Bush. Any takers? Please note, above remark made in the spirit of Texas bashing cause they want our team. I've got nothing against Mexico.
I've got a better idea. Why don't we give back the more recently added state, the one that is former Mexican territory, the one that most resembles a banana republic, and thus, the one that would fit in best with the rest of Mexico? You know which one I'm talking about: After all, you give Texas to Mexico and pretty soon, we'll be running that country as well. In all seriousness, here's an illustration about the relationship between your fair state and mine: There are freeway billboards here now with the Governator on them, asking us to please do business in California. Really, begging is so undignified.
Since this is no longer about Donovan's appearance on the radio, but has instead turned into a California vs. Flyover Country debate, here's one last thought before we close the thread: One good thing about the Quakes possibly moving to Houston or San Antonio is that Texas will finally get a team in MLS. Cause those guys we played last week were almost good enough for the A-league, which is, as you know, a glorified beer league. Bye now!
