Then Toni gives it back to Ribery in a bizarre homoerotic goal celebration near the corner flag.

    total domination by Bayern.

LD should get some minutes in the 2nd half.

Halftime. 3-0 Bayern. At this rate do you think we'll see Donovan in the second half or do you think they'll save him for the weekend?

wow well that half went quickly. Bayern pretty much have controlled the game since the beginning. Now we just wait for Landon to come in.

Simply a beautiful chip. Say what you want about his antics, but the man can finish.

Somebody get a tape of the way Luca Toni plays to Kenny Cooper, and tell him 'son, this is how you do it'. Stay high on the pitch at all times, torture defenders hanging slightly offsides (the Ruud strategy) and muscle them near goal to create space for your shot..

I was going to say that, but felt like some people might get offended.

LOL, I was thinking the same thing.

Incredible half by BM, they are really playing some good, attractive football.

Then they'd just complain to the ref about you.

Kenny Cooper muscling defenders off the ball. There's an image.

The man thinks he's 5-7 and can run and pass like an attacking midfielder.

If he were ever to figure out that he's a 6'3" block of stone, we would actually have something on our hands.

    that's completely wrong

but not having seen the goal...from an offside perspective, if the ball went in without him touching it before it was completely past the line AND if he did not somehow involve himself in the play otherwise (for example by getting in the keepers way) then there would be no reason to call offside.

players absolutely cannot take themselves 'out of the field of play'...it's a cardable offense and the ref still considers you on (did we learn nothing from the Netherland v. Italy game?)

Glad to discuss this in more detail in the referee forum if need be.

He was laying entangled in the back of the net by the time the shot went off.

I suppose since Landon is now at a big club, Cooper was his natural replacement for receiving the bulk of grief from American fans.

Maybe we can complain Cooper's way to a big club like we did with Landon.

well then unless he was holding onto a defender or the goalie there would be no way to consider him part of the play...a passive offside position

We can damn well try. And was I was complaining about Cooper being a big softy long before Donovan touched down in Munich. ;)

I wasn't complaining about him, just making a comment. Personally, I think the kid is gonna deliver eventually.

2nd half starts, don't know if BM made any changes?

    EDIT

Stuttgart goal called back for offsides.

Offsides goal by Stuttgart, so not really a goal I guess.
