I remember people on the boards mentioning lacrosse at Bridgeview (mostly saying it was a bad idea) but were those just hypothetical rejections or is it a real possibility? The MLLacrosse '06 schedule was just released and I see that all but one of the chicago team's home games are scheduled for during the world cup...

Anything is possible but I doubt it. Lacrosse while not a sport popular in the midwest, would be most popular on north shore not bridgeview.

According to mllacrosse.com, Chicago home matches are scheduled for 6/3, 6/10, 6/24, 7/1, 7/29, and 8/5. Only three of those are during the WC.

If they can't play in Evanston (something they've been working on) they will play at Benedictine University's new stadium in Lisle.

    No Bridgeview.

Liam - where are you hearing this? I know Ben Uni have been working on their athletic fields and has a fairly big bleecher style seating area from what I see driving by. Evanston will never fly so Lisle sounds do-able. Never seen a Lacrosse game but know it is popular out east and Big bad Zach played in Uni. Might just have to check out the Chicago Machine.

BU's Sports Complex is sweet (except for being grasstroturf with permanent football and soccer lines).

3,000 seats in the main stadium (all on one side). The baseball and softball diamonds are very nice as well.

Oh, and one other nice benefit for those so inclined - as it's a partnership between the university and the village of Lisle: Beer.

Not as happy as we'd be if your internet got turned off, of course.

soccer/football lines are a bit anoying, but even here in baltimore, where lacrosse is proabably more popular than anywhere else, the teams play with football lines, so not much you can do there.

Fake grass isn't so bad. It actually can make for more scoring as you get faster bounce shots than on grass.

Where would they play in Evanston? I assume that Northwestern facilities are all off limits, but maybe that's not for certain.

Evanston has a "no-pro sports law" if i remember correctly. Isn't that why the fire didn't go there during renovations? I'm not sure if MLL should count as pro since it would see 5000 as a successful crowd, but I still doubt Evanston would make an exception.

I'll definetly check out a game or three. If only to see if MLL has improved any in the last couple years. NCAA lax is still a better game to watch, IMHO.

especially here in baltimore, where we have the defending ncaa champs (and the defending MLL champs actually).

They are indeed playing in Lisle, so this can be put to rest.

And they have to have 27 dollar base prices to offset all the tickets they'll be giving away ...

Well, the (extremely, extremely, extremely) slim interest that I had in seeing this team in person just went out the window in a hurry.

That was my thought too. I was expecting $10 tickets, not $27. I wish them luck but at those prices they won't be seeing me there.
