It's Cinci. I can understand that but continuing to play U-23 ball isn't going to help him at all. He should follow de la Torre's plan and latch onto an Eredivisie team. Unless he wants to join a League 1 side English football seems out of his reach.

He has the advantage of an Irish passport to get past the new "Brexit tax."

So all of Europe is available to him? I sure hope that something's cooking or else turning down Cincy might be the death rattle.

If Cincinnati is the only club in the world willing to offer you a contract, you're already dead.

Yep. An Irish passport is now the most powerful one in Europe because you can work in the EU/EEA and the UK without a work permit.

He certainly did. Had a fairly decent loan spell at Telstar.

I'm guessing his wages at a place like Telstar would be less than he's getting as a reserve at the Toon?

In the fall of 2018, he played 14 matches with 2 goals in about 1k minutes in the Dutch 2nd tier. Made Team of the Week at least once, but sounds like the club and the player weren't happy:

Turned down a loan to Italy after Telstar and didn't end up playing any PL2 matches for the rest of that year. He did have an injury for at least part of that time.

Maybe he still had asperations of playing in the EPL but unless he's myopically blind he has to know that's no longer the case and well maybe this time he'll truly apply himself elsewhere and not be yearning for what's familiar.

He's 23 and ineligible for PL2 after this season so he has to go down the pyramid or leave England. I'm not convinced he's as good as de la Torre or Emo Hyndman. He's only played 4 PL2 games this season and 14 total for less than 1000 minutes the last two seasons. Neither he or his agent have done him any favors by persisting in the PL2. Where else would be remotely interested in him?

    Interview:

Missed out on a season on loan in the Championship because Chelsea was in a bit of disarray at the time.

So, even though Scott would go on to make his Chelsea debut during the 2011-12 campaign, he still regrets not being able to spend a season in the Championship that he feels would have helped him develop as a player.

    Current situation:

"So, I've been speaking to several clubs and I want to make sure everything is right before taking the next step. I am not a kid anymore at 24."

I’ve had a working theory for many years that this player doesn’t exist.
