Semi-OT for the Union, but it does concern our former commentator. http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...will-join-white-analyst-during-nbc-broadcasts Is anyone else curious as to how these sorts of decisions get made? Twellman I can see getting the ESPN job, he was actually good on the air. But Martino was terrible even as a LOCAL analyst. And his show on FSC was always a joke. The only saving grace of this might be that they're putting him on the sidelines instead of in the booth. Maybe that way they can have a better filter in place for when he gets to add something to the conversation.
I was curious about this too. It makes me wonder if a decision maker with some soccer experience is involved. If NBC is aware of the quality of various commentators, how could they have chosen Martino? Makes me worried about NBC coverage.
