Kuwait, Iraq and Yemen are currently in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) preparing for the Gulf Cup competition which is from December 10-24 in Doha, Qatar. For UAE, they will play another friendly match with Kuwait on December 3rd after losing to them 0-1 a few days back. UAE are on a losing streak after losing their last friendly matches against Belarus and Kuwait, of course. Former enemies, Kuwait and Iraq are currently staying in the same hotel and Iraq requested for the Kuwait to play a friendly match with them but it was rejected. FA of Iraq President Hussein Said then requested for a joint training session with their Kuwaiti counterparts. The Kuwaiti officials still has not made a decision on it. On who will win the Gulf Cup, Kuwait Head of Delegation Mohamed Othman said that it was too early to predict. Is it politics? what do you think?
They are in different groups. So why dont they play a friendly? May be Kuwait fearing injuries, I doubt politics has any hand in refusing this friendly.
I agree with you, but why not agree to the joint training session? I understand there's a possibility that the teams will meet in the second round if things went well for both, but managers can keep away "secrets" (if you like) from this particular training session. Do you know what freindlies Saudi Arabia have planned before the Gulf Cup? Can you please keep us updated... thanks
we r rude!! anwyays who has a list of the groups? (im soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited about this, it means more to em than the world cup!! 10 more days mama 10 more days mama)
are we rude??? NO!!! well, we may be cocky, offensive, rude but not noisy!!! anyways, the groups are as follows: 1- Iraq, Oman, Qatar, and UAE 2- KSA, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Yemen
YEAAAAAAAAAAAH we get saudia lets kick some ball! be scared saudia be real scared. (was that scary enough?)
I think that will be the most interesting match in the cup, I hope and guess we'll meet them twice in this tournament did you get that?
chocolate and ilbaasha If we want to scare anybody i have the perfect idea. First, we take a rubber chicken and like throw it around. Second, we wear a plastic bag on our heads and sing (Unbreak my heaaaaaaart). Third, we have to eat skittles. Last, we hit our heads with an empty water bottle. If we do these four steps we shall scare every team in the Gulf Cup 17 and thus Kuwait shall march victories.
looool, nazzo where do you come up with these things!!! and what's the deal with skittles??? how scary can they be!!!
final decision, Kuwait is not playinf nor training with the Iraqi team. Reason as said by the manager: injuries and busy schedule The Iraqi team has arranged for two freindlies against Yemen before the Gulf cup. on a different subject, Kuwait have agreed to meet Norway on the 22nd of January as a prepatory warm up game for the Asian final round of the WCQ's all the best for both teams (Kuwait and Iraq) in the Gulf Cup, and we're looking forwards to meeting Iraq in the semi-final, or who knows... maybe the final.
ilbaasha and chocolate Skittles are scary, yes indeed they are surrounded by the vibes of darkness au eat. LooL chocolate ana mo 9a7i adri, too much accounting.
well, I suppose the hosts were doing whatever it takes to avoid both teams... that's why the groups ended up like this!!!
I want an answer to this. Did Qatar cheat in the draw? I remeber seeing pics of it, but since I did not see it getting a follow up in the media, thought it must have been a mistake?
Saudi Bill Its kinda hard to believe that the three Gulf countries who qualified to the second round of the AFC WCQ 2006, all ended up in one group. Makes me wonder.
