I just like saying it. I say it about everyone who leaves. But since no one takes me seriously, nobody notices. But in reality, it is for Jason's benefit. I always thought if he had a Gazza vibe about him people would have given him more credit. Or some sort of snake tattoo coming out of his collar.
Re: Kreis He was bummed out. When I told him, he said: "They shouldn't do that. That makes me feel bad. Now who is going to be the best player on the Burn?" (We're still trying to get used to NOT saying the Burn). I said "Eddie Johnson?" He said "Okay." A few minutes later the US v Jamaica game started. Then he is and his little brother proceeded to bang on a drum and the couch and yell "Eddie Johnson...bang...bang...bangbangbang....Eddie Johnson...bang...bang...bangbangbang...." and did that for like 10 minutes until Eddie Johnson scored and they both took off their shirts and yelled some more. And he is pretty excited about the Spongebob movie too.
There was always rumor that Grazi was too 'demonstrative' for the more 'conservative' players on the team... But, when physical, mental and emotional capabilities are maximized and harmonized; we produce the greatest results. I truly enjoyed watching Bobby Rhine, one of the nicest guys in the league, lose his cool and express a tremendous amount of emotion. It was his best game... maybe Jason had trouble with expressing his emotions, and Grazi didn't have inspiring examples (coaches?) of applying emotion to a successful physical/mental equation. Go figure. Coaching is a CRITICAL job.
Is this just the stupidest "stat" ever? http://www.mlsnet.com/MLS/news/mls_news.jsp?ymd=20041117&content_id=19316&vkey=news_mls&fext=.jsp "By joining RSL, Kreis will become just the sixth former Most Valuable Player in any U.S. team sport to later play for an expansion team in its first year."
You must not listen to Norm Hitzges on the Ticket. He can pullout the on the road on a Tuesday night in November for any sport. Annoying and fascinating at the same time.
Best Norm Hitzges line of all time... midsummer weeknight.... strangers at the hefty bag, 1982.... middle inning of a scoreless game.... Larry Parrish (i think) hits a flyball that almost bounces off the hefty bag, but still comes down 20 feet in front of the track.... Mark Holtz (grhs) makes a cute remark about the ceiling scraper.... to which Norm replies.... "And if Elephants had wings, they'd really be dangerous." -bs
