Is that his name?? anyways, who is he? Some people say he was korea's greatest missed player? Some forum said that and they also say he could have been one of the best Korean players? anyone have some Info on him? and why he is so hyped about?
Yep, from what I've heard and from flashes of what I've seen he is quite possibly the most talented Korean player of his generation. But as so often happens with similarly-talented players he fell completely off the rails. He joined up at Suwon when he was 18 years old and quickly showed he was a massive talent. He went off to Japan for the 2003 season but it didn't work out for him so he returned to Suwon at the beginning of 2004. He screwed around so much and missed training so often that the club suspended him at the end of the summer and threatened to tear up his contract. He seems to enjoy all the trappings of fame (nightclubs, girls, booze) rather than doing what it was that made him famous in the first place. He's started making noises about sorting himself out, but time will tell whether he does that or not. He's played 128 times for Suwon and scored 32 goals in his Bluewings career, where the highest number of games he played in one season was 21 (that season Kim Jin-woo played 41 times, for comparison). He has 38 national team caps and 6 goals, made his debut in 1997 against Norway.
You should have seen him before he messed himself up. He was really something... a TRUE free kick specialist.
He scored on a top-class goalie in World Allstars vs Korea/Japan Allstars in 2001 or 2002. He played in '98WC team.
oh, i see. So he basically like a Ron Artest, plays when he wants to. So he was a Free-kick specialist?
let me add that he was one of hiddink's most beloved player before he got injured. Hiddink continuously tested him as a playmaker and left winger. i had big hopes and made so many predictions about him, like how he'll succeed in japan and become big later on, but he failed me.
More of a Paul Gascogoine, frequent abuser of alcohol and the ladies. In his interview with the GrandBleu, the Suwon supporter's club, he has mentioned that he does not really like football, but rather, it was the only thing he could do with his folks being sick with cancer ( if i recall correctly ). I personally think its a blalant excuse given that his actions did not necessarily reflect his story. Well, my coach once told the team: talent is secondary compared to commitment and passion - play auspiciously but modestly.
fifa 2005 fckued up on ko js they put him as a right footed player.....yea ko js was something special, waste of talent....his only 27 now i think...hope he makes a comeback like lee dong gook
Agree with Redneck. But whenever I imagine a Park Ji-sung, Lee Cheon-su, Ko Jong-su lineup in the middle or the sides, I cant stop helping he would make a miraculous come-back
My ideal message to him... 그만 깝치고 정신차리시죠... 좆도 않인지 벌써 4년입니다... 타임머신 타고 과거에서 현실로 돌아오시길 바랍니다... 그럼 이만...
Just went through Ko's cyworld homepage and saw that he's from Junlado... Well... That explains a helluva lot of why he is the way he is.
lol, you guys might as well go to his cy-page and post those msgs. btw, I can't believe there are still some ppl who have issues with Jun-ra-do ppl. I hope those are just in jests; how backward thinking is this to take biased views on ppl just based on where they are from.
Cmon man...we's Korean...the most judgemental people on the planet. Not to perpetuate the myth of these people, but have you seen the typical dude from this place? Some big mofos...something in the water I think.
Yep plenty. There are internet lists with famous folks' cyworld addresses too... Shim Mi-na (Korean World Cup chick) Shoo (SES singer) Harisu Kim Young-kwang Amongst others...
I think he's from Yosu... just across the water from my place which is at the edges of Gyungsang nam-do.
Gyung Sa Do blood here too. Dad was raised in Daegu, my mom was family is North Korean and escaped to Pusan. Ppl say I don't talk much.
