Another little stat for everybody:

They just played 9 games in a 43 day span.

That's a game every 4.8 days. You can't tell me with travel and all that fun stuff that goes along with it that these women aren't completely crapped out right now.

Theorize this: Mitts is only on the roster because Ape is mismanaging the team. Brandi didn't get to play in the opening round of the Olympics because Ape was mismanaging the team. Brandi got to play after the opening round because the vets stepped in and refused to let Ape ******** up the Olympics. Mitts did not play another minute in the tournament because the other players know she is only on the roster because Ape is mismanaging the team.

It's nothing personal on my part, Pauk. I have nothing personal against Mitts. I just don't think she's NT-caliber.

 

Yeah, what she said. And, besides, Pauk, it's not Brandi that Mitts comes in for, it's Pearcey, and Pearcey kicks Mitts' a.ss all over the field.

Mitts didn't play when the games got to one and done. If I'm coaching the Olympic team and we're in the elimination rounds (after we'd just tied a game with a less talented Aussie team), I'm gonna go with experience, leadership, and the player who has proven herself time and again over the years before I go with a mediocre rookie who has a long way to go in proving herself.

Drugs are bad, Pauk, mmkk? Just say no. You can't be serious that you would bench KATE! because she didn't have that great a game yesterday. Hey, while we're at it, why don't we bench Pearcey too, because she wasn't her usual stellar self playing out of position yesterday.

The funny thing about sports is you get to base your decisions on more then one game. Granted, yesterday was not Brandi's best game, but when it comes to crunch time there's not many I'd rather have on the field, and Mitts is not one of them. My assessment of Mitts' level of play comes from watching her for several games, both in the WUSA and with the NT, same as my assessment of Brandi's level of play.
