Ara to SLC You got rooked, Knave. Chivas selects EZ and Martins. DC Curiously pulls back Nelsen after the Hendrickson selection. Wonder if there are some shenanigans at work, or they just wanted to get rid of the other guys?
Re: Ara to SLC It'll be ok. I think the guy has potential. He was really a victim of Carroll's emergence. Hopefully he plays great for them, except for the two games against DC when the central midfield is a sieve and they let in counter after counter.
Re: Ara to SLC LIke I said in the other thread, I think Lawson also hurt his chances...I mean they basiclly play the same position and give us depth at a position were we have a bunch.
Re: Ara to SLC Ara seemed like a good guy - always willingly to sign autographs for the kids. Hopefully, he will get some playing time in RSL that was not going to happen anytime soon in DC. The midfielders that RSL drafted are attacking (Williams) or flank players (Kamler) so Ara may be able to start in the defensive/holding midfield position.
Re: Ara to SLC 1. Knave don't be sad you should be happy for him. This proves that you were right and other teams noticed him. Ara will be a star in this league whether or not Peter or Kasper or Payne like it. Peter can now have fun with Caroll. 2. Ara didn't deserve to go unprotected. United got what we deserved. We had 2 chances to protect him and they didn't. 3. You basically wasted 2 draft picks to get him, then just let him go. I don't understand the reasoning. Seems to me that saving the rights to Nelsen who is leaving, was just plain stupid! Good job guys.
Re: Ara to SLC That's one way to look at it - a nice way. But I hate not having him a DC United uniform. No, he did. We're just very deep in his position. That does suck.
Re: Ara to SLC Jeez, we haven't even had the Cup for a week and the front office bashing still exists.. Let's face it, Kevin Ara just wasn't what the braintrust thought he was going to be or he would have been protected.. I think it's as simple as that.. It's not like he had a ridiculous salary to deal with, I just think they weren't all that thrilled with what they saw in him.. From seeing him play a few league matches and also a few friendlies, he didn't impress all that much to be honest.. Did they waste some picks to move ahead and get him? Yup, they sure did but that is the guessing game at draft time.. Kevin Ara is going to now have an opportunity to play (much more likely than had he stayed in DC) with a team that quite frankly I think will be dreadful.. We'll see what he can do..
Re: Ara to SLC If any of you make another play on Kevin's name, you Ara going to get a smack. SayanAra
Re: Ara to SLC I think that next year, you have to conisder remember that Chivas Ara force to be reckoned with.
