Is a champions League final appearance not worthy of its own thread?

Chelsea one club and all that

Definitely would have preferred Andersson to Carter and either Cuthbert or Reiten to Charles, but it’s a great line-up.

I think that Anderson has been a weak point in defence this season.

    Over to the match thread

Chelsea Women v Everton tonight, in UK on iPlayer and BBC red button.

    Internationally on the FA player.

We owe Everton one as they knocked Chelsea out of this competition last season.

    KO. 19:00. BST

Thx for the heads up. I see Leicester (non wsl side) knocked utd out at the weekend.

Leicester were promoted so will be WSL next season, apparently they are taking it seriously and investing ££

Should be way more than a goal up at halftime but at least it's going better than the last outing.

Watching the utd highlights at halftime and they really were the architects of their own downfall. Dreadful defending against the championship champs.

Kerr showing some quality in what has been a tough test. Hopefully enough to put this one to bed. Everton have been a threat.

Professional display in the end with Chelsea coming out as 3-0 winners.

Beth England doing a fine impression of Timo with 2 offside goals

So that's the end of the woman's season. I hope to get along to King's Meadow next season it's only about 7 miles from here.

PS. Draw next Friday at 12:30 BST. Quarter finals to be played in September

I love the way they still call "man on" in the woman's game

We signed Lauren James (Reece's sister!) from the dirty Mancs

Apparently, they in loads of turmoil and might be facing a player's strike to start the season? IDK what's going on but you love to see it :D

She plays as a striker / left winger, positions where we're already completely loaded. Some suggestions that she could be used as a left back / wingback too.

She's only 19 and has made lots of 'best young players' type of lists

Chelsea women open up with a 3-2 defeat to Arsenal thanks to an offside goal.

Chelsea started with both Kerr and Kerby on the bench.

Chelsea still look vulnerable at full back and must be hoping that the injured right back is back in the squad soon
Carter looks well out of her depth.

Arsenal have had the benefit of 3 champions league qualifying games and looked sharper for it.

However it's the first game of the season, onwards and upwards

Hard first game. The big worry is the league is still very top heavy and one loss could be the difference at the end of the year.

With teams getting stronger hopefully more points being lost across the board but really a terrible result to open with.

It was certainly and entertaining game. Cuthbert and Harder were great and Ji was like magic, but Leupolz and Kirby seem still warming up to form. Berger seemed uncharacteristically shaky as well. I am baffled that Carter sees so much of the field.

Was feeling a little jealous of Iwabuchi. She’s a great player, but I don’t think she’d make us better necessarily since we already have so much quality in those positions. Always disliked Parris so of course she finds her way to Arsenal.

I think that Arsenal are the team to watch this season they have made some excellent signings. Manchester city have a few key players out at the moment.

Half time it's 3-0 with all 3 Chelsea forwards on the score sheet, Kerby, Harder and Kerr
