Somebody needs to do it, so I will. I'm starting a thread over at "links" for all mentions of bigsoccer in the media. I think we all need to sit back and realize what a unique thing this is. Is there anything, anywhere, like bigsoccer? A message board that is read by everyone that matters in an entire sport? A message board that gets referenced in kicker and football365?
Oh, bloody 'el. First time I think I've ever been in the subject line of a thread. I started getting emails this morning from English folks. It's running about 20-2 on my side, and I've put the first batch up on the site. Waiting for the others to give me their okay to do so. To be honest, I thought the whole thing was over and done with a month ago, but it has apparently gained new legs now. I'm sure it will be short-lived. At least I hope so.
Speaking of which, was BigSoccer mentioned? How about a plug, Kenn? That was hilarious to read the first time, and it just keeps getting funnier. I guess everyone is missing the Fish called Wanda reference...
If only I could figure out how to plug the ECG#15, and Kenn's interview of Peter Wilt, in all of this.
Bigsoccer wasn't involved originally. I read the article, I took the guy to task, he told me to f*** off, I put it on my website. There was a thread about it somewhere, I put a link to the thing on my site about it, it got some traffic for a couple of days. Then somebody sent it along to football365.com and it has new legs. Well, Andy, I'll plug ECG#15 on my site, for what it's worth, as soon as you send me a .jpg of the latest cover.
That would do it. The two nasty ones I've gotten today were pretty rich, actually. One of the nice ones had me falling down laughing. I'm waiting for the guy to give me permission to print it, though. Some were just happy to see that an American could use the term "wanker" correctly.
I move that Kenntomasch be awarded BigSoccer Premium Status in recognition of his service to soccer in this country! Seconds?

Wow. I'm certainly bringing the world a little bit closer, huh? I'm sure there are other countries who don't like MLS. The guy in question is English and the BBC is English/British. I'm sure I can stereotype any other country you like, given the chance. Yes, it's from "A Fish Called Wanda", as I mention in response to one of the letters.
