Keller starts, but a terrible one.

0-1, P'mouth. Own goal by Andreas Jakobsson, who under pressure collides with Lomana LuaLua and heads over an onrushing Keller (coming off his line) into the net.

    Full time, 2-1.

Not sure how much action Kasey saw, but a win is a win.

A BIG win for S'Hampton after the debacle at Watford......with games against Norwich and CP coming up, S'Hampton can make some space off the bottom, and Kasey- if he contributes- will be viewed favorably.

S'Hampton really needed that one, or implosing was on the docket.....

    Congrats to Kasey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is hoping, now, that Southampton stay up. Tough times for our American keepers in EPL. However, I think that this move to Southampton puts to rest any possibility of Kelley joining RSL in MLS.

Matchlive credited him with five saves. Very solid outing, important win. The fix (and Hod) is already in, sounds like, but this should earn him some credit.

Not sure I concur. The loan to Saints is only for 4 weeks while their 2 top keepers recover from injury. The loan comes up just as the winter transfer window opens so I see this more as an opportunity to impress another manager rather than the window to a permanent deal at Southampton.

I guess we'll have to see how those 2 Saints keeper recover...

That final save was a good one according to the BBC:

"There was drama right at the end when Keller brilliantly palmed away a fierce drive from Matthew Taylor and the home side held on for a much-needed win over their bitter rivals."

I'm just giddy that Saints beat the Skates and Keller got a win in his first match for them.

That saved 2 points. Good for Kasey. Can't wait to see the highlights of that one. From a Southampton Message board:

There not going to offer to keep him. It would be the same situation as Tottenham because there is no way he would start over Anti Niemi. You have to remember most consider Niemi to be the best goalie in the Premership so while this is good for Keller there would be no reason to stay at Southhampton.

How can you give the credit to Keller for a 2-1 win. What about the contributions of the ten other players?

Nope, Kasey did it all by himself. Romario still has nightmares, now Portsmouth will too.

Whether they offer him or not, no idea, but Niemi outside of the south, Niemi is not THAT well thought of. Don't know that he's even the best keeper in town, with shaka. But Keller has a better shot at removing him than Robinson, IMO.

Keller won't be staying at Southampton. If he does he would probably be third choice. I saw a rumor that Zat Knight was going to Tottenham for Kasey and $4 mil but Kasey turned it down so he can go to MLS in January.

From reports, Zat Knight is highly prized by Coleman. Plus, at this point, going from Fulham to T'ham isn't the kind of move a player would demand; it's not like Duff and Parker going to Chelsea, where the clubs had little choice but to sell.

Had he not made the save, they would have likely earned only a point, given that he made the save they earned three. (Nowhere did I mention he also scored 2 goals to give Southampton the lead and played in a 0-0-1 formation.) Those with no axe to grind assume the other 10 players contributed as well to the win.
