After the game with S.J., how does everyone feel about the upcoming LA game? I'm feeling really good. The way the Wiz came out tonight should be a great motivating factor for Friday's game.

I doubt it will happen, but I hope that our team didn't wear themselves out during this comeback, I would hope that they won't be totally drained from this comeback, and still be able to knock off LA.

That's my only worry, that we'll be drained from this game tonight and will come out flat against LA

Kansas city won't beat LA playing bunker ball. They're gonna have to attack because if they stay back, LA will break them down. I didn't see the game because I was at the DC United game; KC must have played a hellacious game against San Joe. Anyway, good game KC, but unlike a couple of years ago, KC won't get away with played bunker ball and score once to win.

    I'm lazy.....

Someone please tell me what KCs record at home is and what LAs record on the roal is. Combine those, and what are LAs statistical chances of winning this game?

And Steve, you're reallllllly "exciting".

Okay. i'm going to bed now. 12 hours ago, I picked up my first Dark Warsteiner in preparation for the GM Q&A at 5:30pm. It's now 5:30 again, (thank you daylight savings) but this time its am.

    3-0.

    Unbelievable.

P.S. - Beer pong might also be the greatest game ever invented next to soccer.

"Carlos Ruiz, stop disrespecting the game."

-John Harkes, speaking after Ruiz flailed to the ground after not being touched.

Only 6 more days before the showdown. KC. LA. God I hate LA so much. The sweetest thing will be to shut them down again in the Western Conference finals on our way to the Cup!

There has never been a more intelligent statement.

I disagree it is a very good game, but Beer Die is a better game.

We've demonstrated that we know how to beat LA, including when there's something meaningful at stake. The team is hyped up and confident and knows how to play at home. Our coach > their coach. I see no reason why we shouldn't be confident.

Of all the years to go to college...

    Check that.

Of all the years to go to college in another country...

Cause if i was anywhere in the US, there is no doubt in my mind i'd be driving myself down to KC to see this game.

KC-LA home playoff games are not to be missed. Ever.
ESPECIALLY when an MLS cup berth is at stake.

I am in the US, only about 3 and a half hours away. Unfortunately or fortunately, from whatever standpoint you wanna look at it, my college's team should be in the conference tournament on Friday playing for a bid into the national tournament. Of course if we lose Tuesday, that could open the door for me to come back down for the game, but being a senior, I don't want that to be my last game.

    To keep with tradition:

LA can lick my Love Pump!

Anyone hear Harkes' MLS Wrap comment about Ruiz and how "he needs to quit disgracing the game!" after that vicious  chest/shoulder bumb Beckerman laid on him.
The Wheelock Hee-Haw remark on Wolyniec was hilarious too.

    Matchup:
    Coaching: Advantage KC
Keepers: Push - Maybe slight advantage KC
    Defenders: Defensive/Advantage KC - Offensive/Advantage LA (f'ing Marshall)
Midfielders: Slight advantage LA - Cobi's pace, Kirovski's skill, Vicotorine is better than Jewsbury, Zags' hammy etc...
    Forwards: Advantage LA

    Team Play: Advantage KC
Professional Temperment: Advantage KC - LA yells at one another all game
    Workrate: Advantage KC
Home vs Road Record: Advantage KC
Crowd Influence: Advantage KC - although it will be tough to get much of a crowd out for Friday night after work for a playoff game with no flex vouchers or season tickets left.

Side thought, should we advance, do we ban Andy Mead from traveling to the final?

Hopefully you can get at least 5,000 to showup, in order to not disgrace the game and all....

    GOOD Luck, CENTRAL!

We're currently planning to make the trip. Saturday, my daughter had a performance in Iowa City, so we were headed the wrong direction.

GREAT JOB, Wizards! I hope I don't jinx them. I think the last LA game we hit was an August 4:00 game in the 90s with Hernandez and Cienfeugos running wild - a total disaster! :(

Well, I've probably got 6 or 7 new people coming to the Cauldron on Friday. I think people are at least aware that the Wizards are doing well. Hopefully that'll translate to attendance.

Anybody know if they had any promotions at the Colts game yesterday? I doubt it, because they probably would've had to have known they were going to advance to put the money up in advance. This is the last chance for KC to see their team this season. Now's a good time to get those people who tell you they want to come to a game sometime, but always manage to back out at the last second.

  25. Looks like the FO is doing their best to increase attendance for this big game:

KANSAS CITY, MO (Monday, November 1, 2004) - The Kansas City Wizards
announced today that all seats, including Lower Level Sideline, Endline and
Club Level, for the Western Conference Final at Arrowhead Stadium on Friday,
November 5th will be just $5. The Wizards will host their rivals, the Los
Angeles Galaxy in the Western Conference Final on Friday, with kickoff
    scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT.

    *****

"On the occasion of this classic playoff match-up, we are excited to be able
to offer this one-time ticketing offer," said Wizards General Manger Curt
Johnson. "The Wizards organization wants to make sure that this Conference
Championship game against our biggest rival, the Los Angeles Galaxy, is
accessible to and affordable for all long-time Wizards supporters, the
entire youth soccer and business community as well as all Kansas City area
    sports fans."

    Amen!! Good job, Curt!
