I could most likely swing it, if we have enough commitment to make it worthwhile. I would prefer it later, in the afternoon as well.

Won't be able to make it this weekend due to prior plans but I am hoping to get out again at least by spring.

Depending on time... I will make it out there, but this will be the first time I kicked the ball since my injury... I don't know if I will be able to do anything...

If this does get organized a few emails to those who have participated in the past might be useful -- for those not on BigSoccer all the time like us losers :)

Does 2pm at Stoll Park sound good? I say Stoll Park as I don't really know too many other places to play . . .

Here's hoping the weather predictions are still for the 50's- 60's

    Re: Time.

It looks like the thread was mentioning 2pm so let's run that up the flagpole as most have mentioned afternoon to be best.

That should hit us a maximum temperature and done well before the sun even thinks of setting (even though it will be overcast). Everyone can still make church or whatever and any afternoon meals/luncheon sometimes associated with that.

    Big question is location.
I'm not sure Stoll still has goals up and the temporary goals shold really only be an option if we do 5 a side or less.
We know our old Middle school at 99th & Lamar stays up year round but the field is usually crap (at least on one end).

I'll put an email out to Red Menace that might collect another player or two potentially. (RM Note: BTW Rohan is walking but only with a walker or crutches - still doesn't have full feeling in all parts of his legs).

if we can get a decision fairly quickly on this I can send out an email to my Wednesday indoor team. A few have expressed an interest in the past.

Well, I've got temporary goals. The full-field goals at Stoll park have been taken down for the winter.

I just sent an e-mail out to my guys. I'm sure that at least 2-3 will want to come.

Let's go ahead and plan on making this a reality.

Did you decide on 2pm at Stoll? Which field?

Re: KC Area Pickup & League Soccer Thread v07.5

I'm saying 2:00 at Stoll Park. The front fields should be unoccupied, but sometimes, people hold events out there (there was some little kid's flag football tournament there earlier this winter on one Sunday).

If the front fields close to the road are occupied, we can just play in the back in the outfields of the baseball fields.

I just tweeked my ankle while running outside. Damn sand on the streets. It's feeling better, but I may be in jeopardy for tomorrow.

Nothing like almost falling flat on your face and coming up limping in front of a large mass of people standing outside the Sprint Center.

I may show up to kick the ball around a bit and jog. I won't be playing, but I figure having people around be enough to will me into working out my knee more.

Re: KC Area Pickup & League Soccer Thread v07.5

Bad news on my front as well. I dislocated my shoulder this afternoon, so I won't be able to come tomorrow. My right arm had to be immobilized. There will be people coming that you don't know, and they may want to play on the front fields. Just a heads up. I won't be able to bring my goals, so you may want to bring some cones or something.

Great kickaround yesterday. Excellent to see so many out there. Three bruises on the same shin for me, good times :D

Agreed. (Chloe is quite the little keeper/last defender - she kept more than a few chances away)

Good to see the Kuhn tribunal out there and everyone else - even if only two of them played.

Since it's the political season I must appologize to Rovert for the two instances of mudslinging in one play.;)

    Goals would be nice though.

Once she got over her initial shyness she got into it. Her double clearance on the younger Kuhn brother was priceless. I had a shadow for the first ten or fifteen minutes where she followed me everywhere. :)

It was a great kick-a-round. Only a slightly stiff left ankle this morning. Now, if only I could only learn to pace myself better the first hour!

Initial weather report for this Sunday is 32 and precipitation . . . Ouch - and I so quickly got used to 65 in January.

I know this is probably a little late, but it looks like Sunday will be Partly to mostly sunny in the upper 40's - anyone want to kick it around like last Sunday . . .
