I am surprised no one has caught the news about our #1 keeper. The Guardian, Independent and Telegraph are all reporting that KK is back to the States and MSL (why are they all dyslexic?) at the end of the EPL.
At the end of his contract? That would be halfway through next mls season. He said he was looking for a new club in winter, maybe, keller wants to stay in europe till seattle mls.
I've heard from Sean Wheelock that Keller is coming back for sure and will probably be allocated to RSL. He's not going to get any time at Tottenham, so he can bring his collection of knives and death metal albums back stateside.
I should have said that the British newspapers are finally getting around to reporting what we already knew.
That's one of the funniest things I've read on here... and I'm really hoping it has no actual truth to it, simply because it would be that much more random and humorous but... ...now that I'm intrigued, enlighten me on Keller's knife and death metal fetish.
I would think that Keller is a free or a near free transfer at this point. Mathis, with all the latest developments, could be in the same boat.
While I think its a lock that he will be in MLS come Spring time, I don't think its a lock he will go to RSL.
Maybe DC can work some of its "magic" and get KK. Lord knows we need him. It's not as if DC has gotten any favors from MLS lately.
Keller's a big (at least was) a very big heavy speed metal fan - it's a subterranean running joke on here.. I know he mentioned slipknot as one of his faves (hence the above comment). Must have helped him back in his Millwall days. don't know so much about his knife collection. But if he could slip one out an have Blanco dive onto it ten times, that'd work
I don't know any specifics, just that he was on a program in England being interviewed and mentioned that he liked death metal, and had a large collection of knives. I don't think it was the Yanks in England program they run from time to time on Fox Sports World, but it might have been. I found the admission amusing as well, it's something about the glasses. He looks too studious or well-read to be a death metal/knife fan. No offense to studious or well-read fans of death metal and knives, of course.
My two-bits would be on him staying with Spurs through the year unless they bring in someone else over the winter window. Well, unless they really, really, really thing Fulop can step in for Robinson should he go down. And I don't think they're there yet since he's still wet behind the ears.
He was also featured on heavymetal.com at one time, that was a pretty funny piece on him. He did say he doesn't listen to it before games
isnt slc a dry city or something to that nature? i do not think mathis would do to well in that kind of place.
Wrong about both players. Keller still has enough of a reputation to get another good-sized contract with perhaps a newly promoted team next season, or even a lower-profile club than Tottenham. He's going to milk the cash for as long as he can (can you blame him?), and his options elsewhere in Europe are also plausible. As for Mathis, forget him returning to MLS anytime soon. He was disgusted with MLS by the time he left and I don't think that a season away is enough to discourage him from sticking it out in Europe before sucking up to Don Garber again. His highlight reel from his first few matches alone with Hannover will get him a contract somewhere in Europe, and most certainly before he decides to come play for Salt Lake. Keller will come play in MLS after one or two more seasons in England, preferably just in time for the Seattle Sounders expansion.
He didn't always wear glasses, and when he first started out he had one kick-ass mullet. roarkesown - I agree that he has the talent to still play with another team in the EPL - I'm just not wondering if he's decided not to wait and go to SLC. Mathis OTOH, I just can't see coming back to MLS so soon. Unless Leinen has told him he's sitting on the bench and not being moved to another German club.
It's not dry. It just has it's set of "goffy" alcohol laws. But what's goofy. Beer has to be 3.2 beer to be sold in a grocery store. Some states don't allow for selling beer in grocery stores. It's all what you're used to.
